Perfect Harmony

"Shuichiiii! Let goo! I have to get to work!"

"Hrm...just 10 more minutes...."

Kaede attempted to get up, only to be quickly brought back down to the couch as Shuichi sleepily pulled her waist.

"Wahh! You're so clingy!" Kaede exclaimed, though she had a huge smile on her face.

Kaede was currently hanging out at Shuichi's dorm for the day, as Kaito, Kokichi, and Kiibo had left to 'give them personal time'.

"Shuichiii....my manager is gonna yell at me..."

Shuichi slowly retracted his arms and slightly opened his sleepy eyes, "Alright..." He now sat up on the couch, "Bye Kaede, Good luck at work" he said with a sleepy smile, which Kaede found to be adorable.

Kaede ruffled her boyfriend's hair before kissing his forehead, "Thank you Shuichi! I'll be back soon!" She gave a thumbs up.

Kaede walked to work and giggled when thinking about her boyfriend. They were two months into dating and this wasn't at all what she expected. To be honest, she didn't know what she was expecting their relationship to be like. Though, she was quite surprised when Shuichi showed this new side to her. He often came off as very serious, however he was so clingy to Kaede. That was what shocked her so much. He followed her around everywhere, and always wanted to hug her. All in all, Kaede loved his affection. It made her feel so warm and happy.

Though he was quite scared to be affectionate in public, he still liked holding her hand. Overall, Kaede felt like she was over the moon.

Kaede smiled to herself as she remembered how this had all begun.

2 months prior, December 25th

C'mon guys! Let's take a picture" Kaito shouted.

Standing behind them was the Christmas tree Hibiya Park would put up every Christmas, dazzling with lights.

They all gathered in front of the tree to take a picture. SNAP! The camera flashed in their eyes.

"Whoa! We look so good together" Kaede said, pointing at her and Shuichi.

Shuichi looked at her, stunned, before nodding, "Yeah! We look good together..."

"Guys let's go look for food!" Kaito exclaimed.

"Ooo! Can I go too?" Kaede asked.

"Uhhh....nope! Uh, stay here with Shuichi!"

Kaito gave Shuichi a thumbs up before dragging the others away. Shuichi knew what he was trying to do.

"Let's sit down on that bench while we wait!" Kaede grabbed onto Shuichi's arm and lead him to a bench in front of the tree.

The snow gently fell all around them, creating a white wonderland. Kaede wore a smile that Shuichi couldn't help but love. He wondered how she could look so beautiful while simply smiling.

Would it be okay to say it now?

Screw it. He sucked in one final breath and cleared his throat.

"Kaede"

"Hm" she turned, making his heart skip a beat.

"Uh...there's something I've been meaning to tell you..."

Your heart is often like a musical piece, it'll thump faster or slower. Maybe there'll be a pause or two.

"I...gosh how should I put this..."

Kaede could only look at his eyes, hoping his answer will be what she wants, her heart starts to thump faster.

"I...I really like you"

There it is. That pause or two in your heart. Kaede's eyes widen, and a soft gasp escaped her mouth.

"I...really like you too" She didn't even think it, it just came out of her mouth.

"You...you do...?" Shuichi released a shaky breath he has been holding in.

Kaede nodded and reached for his hands. Shuichi instinctively pulled them away, but quickly found his way back to her hands.

In the far distance, there was conversation and laughter, yet Kaede and Shuichi tuned it out as she leaned into Shuichi's lips. Shuichi didn't react for a split second before leaning in as well.

All in all, Kaede's heart created a perfect harmony as Shuichi cupped her face.
