(Adeline's P.O.V)

I cried as I sat next to my friends bloody corpses. They had both been killed when I had specifically told them not to go out alone without me. I had many weapons stacked up in the supply room we made, but they didn't have many supplies with them. I went out to find them when they didn't seem to come back after awhile and I saw them both dead lying in the woods. I had to leave them be though, I couldn't take any risks bringing them back and burying them so I had to let the zombies do the job. I said my goodbyes and grabbed my backpack and went on my way through the forest. I went back to the house to pack up all my supplies. I grabbed only the necessary and ran out of the house and back onto the dirt path that we followed to get to the house. I climbed up the large hill and threw my backpack up first. I held my gun firm and used it to get a grip of the top of the hill and hoisted myself up. I got back onto my feet and put my backpack back on. I traveled for what seemed like weeks until my feet gave out. I rested underneath a tree until I could regain my energy again. It was difficult without three sets of eyes because I always had to be aware of my surroundings even while asleep so I don't get my face eaten. I still had my zombie bite and knew I would turn within at least a month more since I used up all my medicine. I wanted to turn now because it was difficult even surviving without my friends. I thought I would have been the first to die, but life is full of surprises. What was even worse is that it started to rain. The rain set nicely with the emotions I was feeling that moment. I wiped my face of rain drops and dragged myself along the muddy path before I heard a zombie groaning. I sighed and saw it heading towards me. I grabbed my gun and shot it without hesitation. I sighed and rolled my eyes as my leg was now hurting deeply. I tripped over a huge rock and face planted into the mud. I crawled to a tree and checked my bite. It looked like it was a yellowish color and I had tears in my eyes. I was close to turning. At least a days worth left and I was so close to being able to live. If only my friends have never died. This would have never happened unless they would have listened to me. If only time would turn back......If only I was strong enough. I closed my eyes and my head fell to the ground as I blacked out from consciousness forever. I had managed to say one thing before I had blacked out though.

Goodbye, cruel world.
