~Poppy's POV~
I sighed as I sat in the strange camp, keeping watch as Adeline and Serenity rested for a bit.
"Puppy-Chan, quit wiggling." I whispered, calming him with a piece of hot dog.
"Poppy? You okay? And why has Puppy-Chan been wiggling so much?" Serenity asked crossly, looking up at me.
"I'm fine. And... Puppy-Chan is used to having another friend as company... She was a wolf, named Minorue. She was... Oddly colored. She was white but she had these little red markings. Like two red lines on her cheek. Puppy-Chan really liked her." I sighed.
"And what happened to her?" I heard a voice behind me and jumped up, scared of the unexpected interruption.
"Adeline! You scared me! I thought you were sleeping." I groaned, crossing my arms as she sat up.
"What happened to Minorue?" She repeated softly.
"... What happened to every other living thing on this forsaken planet." I whispered, images of Minorue flashing in my mind.
"Oh... So, Puppy-Chan isn't as comfortable without his friend..." Adeline confirmed, as I hugged the sweet little doggy closer.
"Yes. There's no way Minorue could have gotten away from the zombies. Not unless she ran at full speed for hours on end." I sighed, but suddenly the bushes rustled...
Lyric, Serenity's wolf pup, growled at this, facing the bushes with a bristling tail.
"What so you think is there?" I asked fearfully, standing up with Puppy-Chan in my arms.
"I don't know, but you might want to get a weapon in case it's a zombie." Serenity suggested, staring at the bushes.
After a few moments, the bushes stopped rustling and flash of white and red went past Adeline and Serenity, knocking me off my feet with Puppy-Chan still in my arms.
A wet tongue swept over my face, and I gasped as I looked up, seeing friendly blue eyes and white fur, red equal signs on either cheek...
"Minorue! Minorue, it's you!"
