"Hello?" I yelled, my voice echoing after. I quickly got up and held onto the clay I had in my pocket, the remnants of what I had was not sufficient for much but in times of desperation I understood what I had to do. If there is someone here, I will fight them, though I lack weapons. I had left a bag filled with paper bombs and kunai knives back at the Inn, and now I regrettably admit, I might just be in enemy territory. My eyes looked around the place, and not a single sound was heard. It was dead silent, an eerily cold breeze in the air. It felt like I was alone, but I know I wasn't.
"Hello," I yelled out again, keeping my legs spread and hands out, ready to defend and attack whatever come towards me. I looked around at this hollow concrete state as if I was in another dimension.
"Don't mess with me" I yelled, now a little panicked with the realisation I do not know where I am. "I'm Deidara the suicide bomber you fucking assho-"
"Hi!"
I threw my clay, pre-prepared in bird forms which fly directly towards the direction of the voice. I looked straight ahead, identifying someone wearing an orange mask. He screeched before the bomb hit him. "Katsu!" I yelled as my bombs exploded, the sound of his screeching drowned in between the massive explosions. The smoke of my bombs had covered the entire radius of the attack, and it took a minute for it to disperse.
"Deidara, please don't do that..." A voice said behind me, but before I could turn I felt a pair of friendly arms wrap around my arms. "Tobi looked for you everywhere!" the voice exclaimed happily.
Tobi? Who the fuck?
"Get the fuck off me before I break your arms.." I whispered in imitation of my calmest tone possible, thinking of ways I could simply just stab him. Regardless of whether he moves or not, my resolve is decided. I will land a hit. But to my surprise, I could feel his skin shudder before he jumped backwards, leaving quite a distance between us. I slowly turned back, giving him a side-eye look.
I could finally see what he looked like.
Regular black pants, a long-sleeved black shirt with old fashioned light armoured on both sleeves. He also wore a long dark green scarf which loomed behind his back. His most distinguishable feature is this orange mask which looks like a lollipop. His messy black hair pops out from the back.
"Deidara-"
"How do you know my name?" I questioned, pointing my kunai at him as a warning sign. "You...announced your name?" He said as he tilts his head in confusion. Announced? Ah, of course, I yelled my name out just now. "Uh..." the odd man said, now fidgeting. "Where am I? get me out of here.." I said, my voice a little shaky from the fear I felt. "You want to leave?" He asked with a genuine tone of disappointment in his voice. I had reached my limit of annoyance and in a swift movement, I ran towards him with no hesitation. "Don't fucking joke with me!" I yelled as I ran towards him, completely ready to attack.
All of a sudden, I felt a forceful pull that almost instantly dragged me towards him and in a split second, I had the feeling of air brushing across my face. Before my face hit the ground, the back of my arm was grabbed and pulled, causing me to hit someone. "I caught you, thankfully!" A familiar voice said.
"Let go of me you freak!" I exclaimed as I quickly backed away, and turned to face him. "My name is Tobi.." He said in a whiny tone, but before I could respond he popped a rose from his pocket. I looked down at it, raising my eyebrow. "What? you're going to attack me with that?" I asked, gripping my kunai knife. "It's for you" Tobi, now finally acknowledging his name, said in a very nonchalant tone. I could feel a smile forming at the back of his mask. I was hesitant and I ended up just looking at him in a very odd light but he ignored my reaction and continued on with his word
"To our new friendship!"
"I didn't agree to become your friend," I said crossing my arms, understanding that this idiot is not a threat to me. "You aren't trying to attack me anymore!" He exclaimed, pushing the flower onto my chest. I raised my eyebrow at this forceful flower-giving, but I decided it was fine."No, I decided that you're too stupid to be a threat..." I said grabbing the flower from him aggressively, making sure I don't prick myself on the thrones as a precaution. Perhaps he had poisoned it with snake venom. I have to keep my guard up. "Deidara senpai...you're so cool.." He squealed, as I took a step back. I'm not used to this kind of attention. Especially from a man who, now I noticed, is twice as big as me in size comparison. I put my hand on my waist as I sighed, if this is a dream I will believe it. If this is real life, this must be some near-death experience dream.
"I'm going, my partner hates me being late," I said casually, before turning around. My hand still gripping the kunai knife, I was also expecting an attack from him. I hear a small gasp and quickly turned, my eyebrows furrowed. "What?" I asked as he continued to look at me. There was an awkward silence between us before he finally spoke up, his voice cracking as he said his following words. "You...you have a partner?" He asked, his voice cracking in the midst of saying it.
"Well, yeah..." I shrugged, understanding that it is rare for rogue ninjas to be in pairs. But then again, it is rare for rogue ninjas to join organisations made especially for them, mostly they are pushed to join in on other things. I looked back, expecting him to say something else, but just then he said.
"I thought you were single.."
I turned around, realising what I said and how he conveyed it. "No" I shrieked, Tobi took a step back as I did. "Sasori is my partner in missions! Not my partner...I'm straight, I like women" I said quickly, my words jumbled up as I didn't want anyone to think that prick of a doll was my partner. Heck, I've never even seen the guy without his stupid puppet shield. I looked up, realising how desperate and panicked I must sound. Tobi looked at me for a minute, before jumping up happily. "That's good! Because I like you senpai!" He said in the midst of jumping, I sighed and nodded. Before properly registering what he had said.
My eyes shot open, now staring deep into the hole of his mask. "You like me?" I asked, very taken aback by this weird man's confession. Disgusted even.
"I like you!" He said, opening his arms out. He walked towards me as if wanting a hug. "I will bomb you if you touch me," I said through my gritted teeth, just then he froze in place and stayed silent. He quickly moved away and kept a distance as I walked back to the Inn.
2 minutes into the walk, he is still there trailing behind me.
3 minutes later, I can feel his presence still.
I have to do something about this nuisance.
"Look...Lolipop boy" I said, my voice cracked as I grew more and more tired of this parasitic man. I turned around, noticing him 4 feet away from me. "If there's anything you need from me, tell me now..." I said, my hands on my waist as I looked back intently. He shook his head no and stepped back. I looked at him for 3 more seconds before turning and going on with my walk.
Thankfully, after, his presence seeped into the darkness. The silence of the night settled in as I continued on with my walk, the cold breeze of the night brushed my skin.
"Who the hell is he..." I muttered under my breath, I am more curious than annoyed now.
A part of me hopes I never see him again.
A part of me wants to know who he is.
