"What do you mean he's my partner?" I yelled, my hands slammed against the table in pure rage and anger. Hidan was slightly startled, my loud slam had interrupting his prayers and the soft chants escaping his lips.
Kakuzu looked at me with a stern gaze as if to cut through my tantrum, making no effort to calm me down. His voice deepens as he leads forward, his expression unamused by my outburst. "This is temporary" He cleared his throat, as he tried to sound reassuring. He just sounded forceful and aggressive, which only served to push my buttons. "and it is an order from Pain.." he added, as if that would make it any better.
What about Sasori? I wanted to ask, the itch of the question was unbearable, it hung just at the tip of my tongue. But somehow, my voice couldn't utter it out as a defence, I felt defeated at the mention of Pain, knowing regardless of what happens I unfortunately have to obey.
"Why me..?" I groaned in defeat, I leaned back against the chair, wishing to merge with it in order to hide away from this awful decision and the pain it would put me through. The frustration on my face is as obvious as ever, my hand gripping the sides of the table as I tried to avoid going berserk. Kakuzu noticed this, and placed his upper body weight onto the table, perhaps, to avoid me from flipping the table in rage. I furrowed my eyebrows at him, showing him that I wouldn't throw the table to the side, but I am simply containing my anger.
"He can't be that bad..." Hidan commented as he grinned at me, the twisted masochist is completely oblivious to how Tobi is. "Names a little funny but he can't be that bad" He laughed wickedly, almost as if he was mocking this newfound burden which has been placed on my shoulders. "To-bey.." He repeated Tobi's name a few times, letting out a chuckle after every mention of it mockingly.
His arm moved towards Kakuzu as he was laughing at the way Tobi's name rolled off his tongue, smacking Kakuzu's shoulder repeatedly as we all stared at him, annoyed.
"I will bomb you..." I said through my gritted teeth. My fingernails digging into the wood of the table. I am at my end's wit.
"Enough."
All three of us looked to the side to see a familiar figure in the hallway darkness, long hair and red eyes. Itachi Uchiha.
We could always tell who Itachi was talking to based on his gaze, as he was always maintaining eye contact as he spoke. He was talking to me, his intense gaze looking into me as if he could see into the very cells within my body.
"I'm here to give you something for your next mission" Itachi said quietly as he pulled his hand out of his cloak. A crow, as big as my head, flew out and flapped its wings towards me, the bird was glaring at me along the way. Once it has landed in front of me, it dropped a blue stone, coated with red rims.
A diamond? A gem? A...mix of sapphire and ruby? No, I give up. I'm not sure what stone this is.
"Deliver that to a customer in the Bamboo Village" Itachi said, before stepping away and disappearing. As always he kept his interactions brief, and went away right after. The entire time Itachi spoke, we all stayed quiet. We weren't scared, but we are wary of him. He could most likely kill all of us if we wanted to. We could do the same to him too, or so we assume.
Before I could utter another word , he had vanished.
"It was a clone.." Kakuzu noted, returning his attention to the stone. "We can sell it for a lot of money" Kakuzu said as he tried to grab hold of the stone. But before he could, a hand from above the ceiling picked it up from my hand as I held it with an open palm, I instantly glanced up in confusion, only to see the orange masked man hanging from the walls.
How the hell...did he..what is he...what...
"SENPAI...LOOK..A blue diamond! WOAHH" Tobi said, his voice echoed from above us. All of us looked up to see him hanging on by the ground roots which had penetrated through the ceiling. He then hopped backwards and landed on his feet. "I have eyes, Tobi.." I responded with a bored tone, unamused by his appearance.
"What are we doing with this senpai?" He asked, his head tilted to the side, it looked nauseating. His voice a tone higher than normal.
This adult child of a man.
"We have a mission..." I said quietly as I walked passed him, not wanting to interact much with him. The blood boiling within me was unbearable, I was in a room full of idiots and my anger issues are slowly rising to the surface.
As my footsteps echo through the hallway, I could feel his presence behind me. I sighed internally as I moved quicker, trying to get away, already knowing who it was. The thing about Tobi is that he is like a dog; he follows you everywhere. It does not matter if you disappear, he eventually will find you and continue to follow you. I, am not sure if I like it. It is nerving, the feeling of someone walking behind you, I never was quite fond of it.
My eyes gleamed at the sight of my room, I could spot the three candles lit at the side of the wall. Considering our hideout has multiple rooms, we were always asked to light up a certain number of candles to differentiate the rooms. Relieved at the thought that I did not need to further interact or lay my eyes on him. "Tobi we leave tomorrow morning" I simply as I entered my room, as the door was closing, but that didn't stop Tobi from sticking his hand through the door opening to stop it.
"Oww" He groaned in pain, his voice still high. "Now why'd the hell you do that?" I asked, my tone harsh and annoyed.
This stupid orange lollipop.
He pushed my door open as he fanned his hand which I could only guess, was in pain. I'm no Hercules, but in rage and anger my strength does intensify. Tobi wore gloves, it is hard to tell whether he was merely overreacting or if it actually hurts. "Get out of my room.." I said as my tone was calm but my eyes looked at him menacingly. If looks could kill, Tobi would be on the floor. Dying, taking the last few of his breaths. My stare would assassinate him instantly.
He squealed and yelped as he saw how I looked at him. All of a sudden, he steps back and closes the door. "Oops.." he said as he tried to open the door again. His violent shaking to get the door open concerned me, but I was impatient. "Just close the door and get out!" I yelled, frustrated. My body now heating up due to anger and annoyance.
Isn't there an age where you should stop playing with doors?
I could hear him let out a mischievous giggle through the door as it separates us, and he better thank the fact that this door is separating us. I leaned back against the door as I let out a sigh, my face buried in the palm of my hands as I let out another loud sigh, the kind a child would when not getting a toy they want, or the failure of a sensei when their student fails a jutsu.
What a joy my life is.
