I smiled at the guys sitting around me, buzzing about their spring break plans. "We have to practice at least one more time before the gig next weekend."

"Obviously," Jeff stared at Kenny with a 'duh' look. "Okay, so you guys free tomorrow? My parents won't be home all day so it's the perfect time." A wave of agreement from the other band members and the plan was set. "Do you guys mind if I come watch?" I looked at all of their faces, an anxious cloud hanging in my chest. "If not, it's okay. I don't want to intrude."

"No!" Gareth shook his head, hands shooting up to stop me from speaking. "We'd love to have you! You can obviously come. Right guys?" He shot a look at the other three, them nodding back at him. "See? It's fine. Come over whenever you'd like. We usually start pretty early though, 'round ten-ish."

"I'll be there then." I smiled as the bell rang to dismiss lunch, waving my goodbyes before walking off to my last few classes before our long awaited break.

I awoke the next morning with jittery nerves, I had no clue why I was so nervous, maybe it was because this was my first time watching them practice. I had been to plenty of their gigs but this felt more intimate, more special somehow. I got up and quickly fixed my appearance. I didn't usually do too much in the way of dolling up unless it was a special occasion, but I had decided to dress up just a little. I slipped my shoes on as I noticed the time, 9:45 the clock read back at me, perfect. I had decided to walk to Gareth's, considering I didn't have a car and my skateboard was in desperate need for a fix.

I got there a little after 10:15, walking up to see Gareth setting up his drum set in the garage. He had his back to me, hunched over the cymbals as I silently stepped up behind him. "Boo!" He jumped back, stumbling into me slightly. "___! Why would you do that?"

I laughed, covering my mouth to try and quiet myself. "It was the perfect opportunity, sorry Gar." I giggled before looking back to see Jeff and Kenny coming up the driveway with their gear. "Hey boys." They responded with their hellos, starting their own set up as I found a discarded amp to prop up on. Once they were done setting up, we all waited a while for Eddie to show up, the real star of the show. When he didn't show up on time, the others decided to get started without him. They needed as much practice as they could get, according to Kenny, but I thought they sounded awesome. Maybe it was because I wasn't very knowledgeable about the particular songs they were practicing, but it sounded amazing to me either way.

After a while, Gareth looked up from his sticks to see a few figures coming up the driveway. I noticed as he stood and rounded the drums, following his gaze to find Jason and his posse. "You're a little early, guys. Gigs not til next week."

"So that was music you were playing?" Andy spoke up, earning a glare from everyone in the garage. "Where's Eddie? We know he's in this band. Just tell us where he is and we'll leave you to your... music."

"Well, you have eyes, don't you? He's not here. Haven't seen him since yesterday." Gareth smirked, my eyes flickered between the two of them, standing chest to chest almost. "See, I don't believe you." He knocked Gareth back, him stumbling over his drums and falling into the damage. I shot up from my seat, getting between them. "Maybe he's busy fucking your girlfriend."

"What did you say, freak?" Jason snapped his gaze to me. "You heard me, I bet he's making her feel better than you ever could. Saw him and her getting into his van last night after the game. If you haven't found her, I bet it's cause she's having a glorious time."
