I woke this time to find myself in a field with nothing around but trees surrounding the whole area.
I got up from the ground and wiped myself to rid off all the sand on my body.
As I started to walk, I noticed that I did not have a shoe on one of my legs.
It most have been grabbed by that man who wanted to pull me back, I thought.
So, I removed the other shoe and threw it away and I walked barefoot, with only my socks on.
I started looking around the place and I walked for hours but I couldn't find a single soul.
All I could see were trees and some occasional monkeys jumping up and down the trees.
Then I came to an opening and I kept on walking on the beach and soon, I was met with the ocean.
That was when I realized that I had been sent to a deserted island that do not even have much animals apart from trees.
For once, I was happy about that and then I was also sad as well as that meant that I would not be able to see people again.
But come to think of it, it was for the better, it meant that I would not be putting any life in danger anymore.
Soon, it was getting dark and that was when I realized that I had nowhere to sleep and I was too afraid to go back deep into the forest again.
As the cold started getting unbearable and my stomach kept on growling, I knew I had to do something and so, I got up and went to the nearest palm trees.
Some of it's leaves have fallen to the ground and were laying there in heaps.
The first thing that came to my mind was to make a shelter with it.
It took me several hours to finally make a small shade for myself.
I had cut my hands numerous times than I could count and for the first time, I was glad that I was immortal and able to heal in no time.
All I had to hope for was for rain not to come.
I walked inside the little tent and closed the door and surprisingly, it was warm.
I lay there silently, trying to sleep but I couldn't as my stomach kept on growling.
I didn't know how many days it took me to finally reach here but one thing I knew of, was that the last thing I ate was that cake, which I also didn't eat much.
I just couldn't sleep without having something to eat and so, I headed out to find something edible.
I wasn't much of a tree climber and so, I kept on falling down from each tree I tried to climb on.
After so many failed attempts, I finally gave up and I sat underneath the tree, feeling all hungry.
For the first time, I wished that I also had the ability to withstand hunger as well.
Just then, I saw a hand giving me a banana.
I was scared to death and jumped off only to see that it was one of the monkeys around.
He looked at me before handing the bunch of banana to me again.
I was hesitant to collect but then by stomach growled on cue. Moved closer to me and handed it over again. This time, I had no choice but to collect.
As soon as I collected, he turned and rushed back into the island.
I muttered a thanks to him before rushing back to my makeshift tend or whatever it was to be called.
I started to chug onto the banana like I've never eaten it before.
In less than ten minutes, I had ate up the whole bunch.
It wasn't enough to quench the hunger I was feeling but I was glad that I was able to sleep peacefully.
**********
I felt something tap on my face and at first, I ignored it. But then I felt again.
"What!" I complained.
At that moment, all I was thinking about was that I was back at home and I was being rudely woken up by someone.
"Uhg, uhg" I heard.
Wait, that wasn't my mother nor my father's voice.
I quickly got up and to my surprise, I saw some bunch of monkeys standing before me.
I quickly sat up only to see that there were more. There were about a hundred of them.
I wanted to cry out for help but then I thought, who would be helping me out.
One of the monkeys moved forward and reached out to touch my face. I was too stunned at that time to even move away.
He started checking me out, like I was some sort of an alien. I just let him be as he kept on doing what he wanted to do.
After he was tired, he turned over to his companions.
He talked to them in their own monkey language and then they all started jumping up and down. I didn't know just what they were squealing about and so, I just kept on staring at them.
Just then, they all scrambled away just like that, leaving me all alone in my now destroyed tent.
Great, now where would I be able to find another leave to make a shelter.
It was still cold in the morning and so, I decided to just stay put underneath the tree.
I was hoping that it would be warm when the sun came out.
I kept on shivering in the cold but after a while, I fell asleep.
I was woken up again by a tap on my face and then I felt some warmth around me.
I opened my eyes to see that the monkeys have covered me up with a blanket.
But where did they found it?, I couldn't help but wonder.
Just then, the monkey who inspected me earlier whom I later found out was their leader pulled me off from the ground and he was surprisingly strong to have done that.
They all started running away to one direction in which I had no choice but to follow.
They were a little bit faster and so, I had a hard time following behind them as we kept on crossing one tree and another.
Soon, we came to an opening and they stopped. She opened a way for me to pass and I walked forward.
I was so shocked at first to have found a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
I rushed over to the house and started calling out for the inhabitants.
"Hello, is anybody home?" I called out.
But there was no answer.
I called out again and still, no answer, only my voice echoed.
One of the monkeys pulled me in and we walked inside the house.
It was a one room cabin with a huge bed in the middle and it looked all old.
I knew that just by the way the wood was sounding beneath my foot.
I looked around to see a small made up kitchen at the far end of the room and that was all, apart from the huge bed and one large window.
I walked over to the bed to inspect. It was rather old and dusty, as if the inhabitant had been gone for a long time.
"Where is the owner of this place?" I asked no one in particular.
But then one of the monkeys that had gotten on the bed stood up and then fell down on the bed, like he was dead and then he got up and started a motion like he was digging into the ground.
Just by his actions, he was trying to tell me that the owner was dead.
So sad. But at least he is at peace now. Something that I would never be able to get, salvation.
And from the looks of things, they were pretty close with the owner and they wanted me to replace him.
Well, I'd love to do that. Since I have always been a trouble to people out there, maybe animals should he my companions now, I thought.
I got to work and within no time, I made the place a little bit habitable.
I got all that I needed. Shelter, peace of mind, away from civilization. All that was missing was what I would be eating.
I also didn't know how to get food around the island.
When I turned around, I saw that all the monkeys have left. Great, now they have also left me, I thought.
But it was ok by me, I also didn't want to get entangled by anyone as well.
I lay back down on the ruffian made bed and believe me, it was so comfortable.
Within no time, I fell asleep.
I was woken up again by something tapping on my face.
I opened my eyes to see that one of the monkeys was the one who was trying to wake me up.
I sat up from the bed to see that half the room was filled with all sorts of fruits that I could think of. Some I didn't even know their names.
I was so touched that the monkeys have actually did all this for me.
They even made sure that I have eaten my fruits and then, we all sat there, with them talking to me in a sign language that I do not understand.
When the nighttime came, they all left me to myself and went back to their respective trees.
I had actually began to love their company but I guess they just felt more comfortable sleeping outside.
The next morning, they all came but as early as possible and after that, they took me out and showed me all around the island.
The island was such a great of wonder. So many hidden views that were so extraordinary.
At for the first time since I arrived at that place, I felt that I actually belonged there.
It was like that was the adventure I had been waiting for all this while and now, I have finally gotten it. I have finally reached my destination in life and I have never been more proud of it.
Finally, I felt at home.
