I opened my eyes slowly as they were as heavy as a mountain in my orbs.
I closed them once again as I tried to adjust to the light in the room.
I was still laying in bed even though the last thing I remembered was me on the floor crying out in pain.
But I couldn't feel the pain anymore at that time. To tell you the truth, I even felt numb, like my whole body has been paralyzed.
I even tried to lift up my hand but I couldn't, my body just felt a lot heavier for me to pick up.
I started checking around the room with my eyes and I noticed that it wasn't my room.
The room I was laying in looked like some sort of hospital room or an operation room as I could still see the operation headlight above my head.
I was wondering as to who had actually brought me to the hospital when I heard someone talking from outside the room.
"I think this time it's successful, so far she hasn't died and this is the farthest we had gone with this experimentation" I heard a voice that sounded a lot like Mr Svaboda's.
"Yes, let's just hope she wakes up in good health, I'm afraid of what the side effects could be this time" the second voice sounded like uncle's voice.
"You two should not worry at all, I have spent one year going all over the world in order to perfect this formula and as far as I can see, the first stage has gone perfectly well and the second has also gone as planned, all we have to do now is to make sure that she stays in a sleeping position for a week so as let everything to happen in time" the third person said and it was none other than Spear.
I was wondering if they were talking about me or not. But it seemed a lot like they were.
I found their conversation to be rather strange as well.
Just then, the door opened and the three walked in. I was quick to close my eyes as I didn't actually know if they were talking about me or not.
"Look, she's still sleeping, that's a good thing" Mr Svaboda's voice echoed.
"Yes, but the sedative I gave her will wear off soon and she would start experiencing pain again and this might disrupt her healing process" Spear's voice echoed this time.
"Hurry and give her another" uncle's voice said.
There was a moment of few silence and then,I heard someone come close to me.
"This is going to be nice and slowly dear and in a week, you'll be fully reformed and no more pains" he whispered in my ear.
I was wondering as to why they were talking like this and then I remembered that I was sick. Maybe they have heard and were here to help me out.
"We don't want to lose another one again" uncle's voice echoed.
"Don't worry, she is strong and will fight it all" Spear's voice comes again.
"She will soon be back in her trance state and this will last longer than two days, a week maybe and then, she will be good to go" he added.
"I am proud of you son, you have succeeded where we failed and for that, you'll get the first go" Mr Svaboda's voice was the last thing I heard before I slipped back into my dark abyss once again.
**********
I woke up once again and this time, I felt more alive than the other time.
I opened my eyes and let them adjust to the lights once again.
I also noticed that I wasn't on the operation room but in my room.
I tried to lift up my hand and I was happy to see that I could do that with so much each.
I tried sitting up but then someone stopped me.
"Easy there, you need to take it slow" Naeemi's voice echoed.
I turned around to see her sitting besides me with a worried expression on he face.
"Water" that was the first thing I could utter after being out for God knows how.
She walked away from the room and soon, she was back with a flask in her hand. She poured a little bit of the warm water and fed it to me.
"How are you feeling now?" she asked.
I nodded my head, assuring her that I was fine.
"How long have I been out?" I asked.
"Ten days" she answers sadly.
Ten days, that was too much, I thought.
Just then, she pulled me into a hug. That was the first time that she had actually showed real emotions towards me.
"I'm really glad you are back I thought I had lost you for good as well" she said in a teary voice.
"I am back now and I am not going anywhere, at least not so soon" I said.
She smiled at me and I helped wipe off her tears.
"You look different" she observed.
"How?" I asked, confused.
I know I should at least look skinny because if all the sickness I've had to endure, maybe that was what she saw, I thought.
"Felicia, mirror" she says.
Soon, a mirror emerged from the ceiling and stopped in front of me.
I was expecting to see a flesh covered skeleton with a worn out veins because I could still remember how my veins kept on acting out of place.
But what I saw was a perfect looking young lady with her flesh looking as fresh as it could ever be. Even my hair looked so full and bouncy.
"Huh!" I exclaimed.
"Let me do a quick scan of her body to see if there's a sign of any sickness" Felicia's robotic voice echoed.
Some red light flashed through by body and I could feel it tickling my body.
"There is no sign of any ailment in Keethana's body, all organs seemed to be working at 100% capacity and there's likely no chance of her getting sick or old in the nearest future" Felicia said.
"You said what now?" I asked, confused.
"Let me translate it in a world you would understand" she said.
Then there was silence for a few seconds.
"My systems are indicating that miss keethana is no longer in any threat from any types of diseases, in short, she is immortal"
