Chapter 14

Slowly, I opened my eyes as they were so heavy buy I still managed to open them up.
I sat up from the ground that I was laying on and when I looked around, I didn't recognize where I was at all.
It was just a mass of crumbled buildings, as if they have been demolished or something.
Getting up from the ground, I looked around in order to decipher where exactly I was but I couldn't understand.
The place didn't look nothing like where Naeemi took me to and I could remember vividly that the cloud in that city was so dark, as of it was going to rain sadness but this one, it was clear blue and you could even see the sun emerging from the sky, indicating that it's early in the morning.
Just the smell of the breeze reminded me of home and for the first time since I left, I felt home sick.
How exactly did I end up here and where was I exactly?, I asked myself even though I never knew the answer.
I didn't even knew that the transporter was working at that time.
I decided to walk around in order to get a hint of where I was and I walked for almost an hour but there was no sign of a single life.
Soon, I was ready to give up when I saw a sign buried halfway to the ground.
The sign looked familiar and so, I pulled it out from the ground and wiped the dust off.
'WELCOME TO LINSDALE TOWN
POPULATION:  0'
The original number of my town population had been replaced with zero and I didn't need no one to tell me that they were all gone, but where?.
I decided to turn to the other side.
'FAREWELL FROM LINSDALE,
YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD GET AWAY FROM US.
THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR BETRAYING US AND WE ARE COMING FOR YOU AS WELL, BE READY!!!'
That was what was written in bold.
I didn't need no one to tell me who did this.
Those monsters, how could they do this to my people?.
I just sat there and cried out my heart.
I just couldn't believe those people.
They murdered my friend and now my whole family, how could they?.
They are truly evil in the real form.
I decided to get up to find even what was left of my parents and the rest of the town but to my surprise, I couldn't even find a drop of their blood.
Where could they have taken them then for there was no sign of anyone being murdered here, I thought.
I walked over to where my house used to stand and I saw another template and when I picked it up, it turned out to be a tablet.
There was a paused video on the screen and I decided to play it.
As soon as the video started playing, I saw faces that I recognized as they belonged to my people.
I could see the mayor and others but my parents were not there.
They were all crying and begging for mercy, as if they were being tortured or something.
When I looked closer, I saw that they were pouring hot water on them and some of them where scalding already.
Then it stopped and my parents were on the screen and both of them were tied up to a chair and they were all being electrified.
Just then, Volodymyr's face came to view.
"Hey darling, sorry for that horrible image but you forced us to do so and if you don't surrender to us soon, we would be force to slit all their throats soon, so come out wherever you are little girl" he said in a sing song voice.
"We'll be waiting for you or we'll come get you, just let us know once you get our video" Mr Svaboda's voice echoed.
"Keethana can you hear me, do not let them get to you, they are dangerous and they will kill you dear" my mother's voice echoed in the background.
At that moment, my heart swelled up and I finally understood what my mother was trying to protect me from all this while.
If I had heeded to her advice at that time, I would have been fine and alive now but no, I only wanted adventure in my life and now, I got it but in a bad way.
Before I could get a chance to answer her, I heard her scream in agony, as if someone was torturing her.
"Shut up you bitch" I heard Spear's voice echoed and after that I heard a sound of someone hitting a person and I knew that it was him.
Those monsters, I just wish I could murder them with my two hands, how dare they do that to my people.
"If you want them to be alive, you better be found by us in the next twenty four hours, till then, stay beautiful" Volodymyr said and then the video ended.
I screamed out loud and I could hear my voice echo all.over the place.
How could my life change all of a sudden?.
What exactly did I do to deserve all that?.
I never hurt an ant in my life and all. I wanted was to be out of this town and see what the world was like but all that I saw was pain and agony.
I never should have stepped out of that town.
I did it all, it was all my fault.
After I had screamed all the air out of my lungs, I collapsed to the ground.
At that moment, I was praying for death to come in and take me away but I knew it wasn't even going to happen.
Even with that, I walked over to a huge cliff that was right behind my town and without thinking about the consequences, I jumped right down.
I could feel the air filling my lungs, only that was enough to murder someone, not to talk all the tumbling between one rock to the other and I could literally feel my bones breaking and trust me, the pain was unbearable but I still endured it for I know all the people that were murdered before my eyes felt the same.
Soon, I fell to the ground with a thump and I could feel my head break, like literally snapped to the other side.
This seem to have done the trick as I felt darkness engulf me after that and the pain started fading away, sending me into a dark abyss.
Finally, my death has embraced me and I was at peace. At peace from all the happening of this wrecked place called world.

Slowly, I felt my eyes open and to my utmost horror, I was still alive.
Why am I still alive?, I thought.
I checked myself to see that all the injuries that I had sustained were all gone.
Why?, why was I being punished in such a horrible way?.
What did I do to deserve that?.
All these horrible thoughts kept on creeping through my head.
I had taken death as my last resort but that freedom was also taken away from me.
I just sat there, crying out my heart from how this world has been so cruel to me.
What am I going to do now?.
But one thing I know is that, I would never let those horrible men catch up with me for I knew exactly what they wanted from me and I would never let them have that power.
Who knew how dangerous they would be after that?.
I got up from the ground with this new determination in mind.
But one thing was hindering me though, where would I go?.
I had nowhere else to go.
Then an idea suddenly came to my mind.
I thought that they might possibly have some enemies and if I go over to their enemies, I might be safe.
But how would I go there?, I thought.
It was not like I had any means of transportation.
Transportation, yes, the word made me remember the transporter.
I was certain that it brought me here but how?.
I looked up at the wristwatch in my hand and it was somewhat glowing now.
What! I didn't notice that before.
This must mean that it's working.
But how do I use it?.
I tried to touch it and it started glowing more and right before me, the structure of the whole world, the whole globe, came to view.
I would have stood there to admire it but from far behind, I heard the sound of a plane.
I didn't need no knew to tell me that it was them.
They must have arrived already.
Panicked, I just touched the globe with the thought of getting away from her to a place that they won't be able to get to me easily and then, I was suddenly sucked into the globe.
I couldn't explain just what happened inside that globe but I felt like I was being transported into a tunnel and really fast.
And then, at the far end of the tunnel, I saw an eye deafening light and soon, I was plummeled into it and the glow, just blinded my eye and that was the last of what I could remember.

I got up from the ground and opened my eyes but I was blinded by the light and so, I had to close my eyes once again.
At first, I thought that I was still in that globe thingy but soon, my eyes adjusted to the intensity of the light and it turned out, it was just the sun.
I tried to get up but I was pushed back to the ground and when I looked up, I saw a gun pointed at my head.
