Chapter 23

"W...w... what have you done?" we heard Golam's voice behind us.
He had let go of me now and on instinct, I quickly rushed and hid behind her, shaking all over and terrified.
It was just too scary for my brain to to process. I mean, I have seen people blow up before but it just couldn't mask off the fact that it was just too terrifying.
I was sure that even if I see this a thousand times, I would still get terrified.
"You...you... You.... Ju... just blew him up, didn't you?" she asked, even though the answer was quite evident in front of her.
As for Spear, he didn't even look remorseful for what he did.
"He was trying to act too smart for his own good and so, he had to go, now hand her over to me" he said, moving closer to us.
"Stay away" I cried out, hiding more behind her.
"Spear, he is your uncle" she pointed out to him, in tears.
To her, I knew he was more than that.
"So?" he asked.
"He is your own family, why would you kill your own family and that too just for power?" she asked.
He didn't even acknowledge her question this time as he moved forward.
"Just hand her to me, she's going home with me and that's final, we have had enough of this hide and seek as it is" he said, getting rather pissed off.
"She isn't going anywhere with you" she spat out at him.
"Sister, I'm warning you, don't you test my patience, otherwise, you won't like what's coming to you" he warned her.
"What are you going to do, huh?, Kill me as well, well I don't think you have it in you to kill your own sister" she challenged him.
"You might have turned out to be a monster like them, but you still don't have the guts, you..."
"ENOUGH!!!" he warned.
I tugged at her hand, warning her as well. I have a feeling that he could do that.
But she ignored me and kept on provoking him.
"I have over-looked most of your mistakes so far but not anymore, you have turned out to be just like those two monsters and all you know is to take advantage of helpless people but I won't let you do that, I would die but never let you take her" she said, holding a tight grip at my hand.
"Golam, I am warning you, do not interfere in this matter, you are my sister and that's why I am even trying to reason with you, otherwise, you would have been dead already" he said.
I could still see that he was hesitant to kill her.
She just huffed at him.
I wanted to scurry away, seeing that this was a siblings fight but I was just too scared that he might try to harm her.
"Golam, please, let's get out of here" I whispered at her but she, just like her brother, were so strong headed even though it was clear to all who was going to win the battle.
As he moved closer to us, I just saw her raise a gun at him. Where did she get it?, I don't know.
"What do you think you are doing?" he asked.
"I'm helping you from your demons and don't move any step closer or I'll be forced to shoot" she warned.
Spear looked a little bit perplexed for a few moments, as if he wasn't expecting her to act this harsh.
"You can't shoot your own brother" he said.
Just like he said, she didn't shoot him when he came closer.
He still kept coming closer while I was just terrified.
I thought of having to have my way and run away but then when he was a few inches away from her, that was when I saw the knife in his hand.
"Golam" I cried out but it was too late and so, I did the only thing I thought possible.
I got in front of her and the knife landed on my stomach.
"Keethana" she called out to me.
I wanted to tell her that I would be alright that she should just leave but my mouth was only filled with blood, and that was all that kept on flowing out of my mouth.
The knife was just no ordinary knife, I could feel it divide into thousand pieces in my stomach and all trying to destroy my internal organs.
"Keethana" he called out as well with so much worry in his voice.
"You! You made me hurt her" he accused.
He turned to his sister in fury and that was when it happened, in a few seconds, I heard gunshot and a person choking.
Laying before my eyes was Spear, shot right through his chest and on the otherside, Golam's head had been totally severed from her body.
I began to panic, forgetting my own pain at that moment. I just couldn't believe that the two siblings have actually killed each other and that too, just because of me.
At that moment, I knew I had to get out of there and so, I tried my best to drag my legs out, without even turning back.
But before I could exit the house all together, I heard his loud scream.
"I'm coming to get you keethana, no matter what it takes" he called out and after that, he chocked on his own blood.

It took me two days to finally heal up from that knives wounds.
And let me tell you, it was hell trying to remove it myself. I almost gave up because of the pain but I managed to do it in the end.
After I had left the house, I managed to walk far enough to hide away in an abandoned building and lucky enough for me, nobody came to disturb while I was regrowing back my organs.
My mind drifted back to the two siblings. One, I knew that Golam was dead for sure for there was no way her head would grow back or attached itself together and two, I wasn't sure if Spear was dead. I mean, she had shot him right through the heart, so he must be dead, right?.
I internally prayed that he was.
But his last warning to me made me think otherwise. I just didn't know what they have under their sleeves now.
I mean, the ones that could even kill their own family just to get to me, there's no limit to the evil they can do.
But I wasn't going to wait around to find out. I had decided then and there that I was going to find a power source and then I would leave this planet forever.
I knew it was a risky thing to do and I might never even survive it (I kept on forgetting that I was immortal, well maybe not in space as well) and maybe the transporter might even be broken in the process, but I was still willing to gamble.
I got up from my laying position and walked out of the building.
People didn't notice me at first but as soon as they did, they all turned to me.
"She is the one, she is the one" that is all they kept on muttering and they all came running to catch.
I didn't need no one to tell me that it was their doing and so, I made a run for it.
Since from that day, I haven't stopped running till date.
Well, except the part where I managed to hide from them and then I found power source but I wasn't able to fully charge it when that man hit me in the head, making me black out.
I woke up to see myself tied up. I was so confused as to what happened and where I was but then a man came to me.
"Oh! I see you are awake" he said.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"That's none of your business, all you have to know is what I am going to do to you" he said, leaning close to me.
That was when I noticed the blank look in his eyes. It was he is being possessed.
"Mr Medici has promised a lot of money to the one who manages to bring you to him and we'll, I managed to do that" he said and started laughing at my face.
"Why are you doing this?" I cried out, hoping he would take pity on me but who was I kidding, he doesn't even know what he was doing in the first place.
"For the money of course and if you are not aware, the whole city is out on your tails" he said.
I had nothing more to say to him, so I just kept my mouth shut and let the tears roll from my eyes.
He moved closer to me, way closer for my own comfort.
"Gosh, you are so beautiful" he exclaimed.
"Pity though we can't touch you for you belong to the masters, otherwise, I would have had some fun with you as a bonus" he whispered in my ear.
"But this would be enough" he said and I felt his hands start roaming all over my body and to say I was disgusted was only an understatement of the year.
"Please stop, they would kill you if they ever found out you tried to touch me" I cried out, hoping that he would heed to my advice.
"But how would they know if they aren't here?" he groaned into my ears.
"They see everything" I answered.
That seemed to have made him stop. Instead of just letting go, he gave me a tight slap on the face for no reason at all.
After that, he didn't say a word and just stormed off, leaving me all tied up and in a dark place.
I looked around, trying to find a way of escape but I couldn't find any.
I kept on silently praying that a miracle happens for I do not want to go back to those people.
If they could have the power to control others like this, then I could only imagine what they would turn the whole world into when they become immortal.
I just couldn't give up after coming this far.
Just then, I remembered the transporter. Yes, that was my only way out. I tried to reach it but my hands were so tied up and so, I gave up.
After sitting there for a long time, I finally fell asleep. I was woken up be someone pouring water down on me and I gasped for air, like I was drowning.
"Get up and have some food you bitch" he cursed at me.
It was like he has become so mean since I last spoke to him. I thought he was going to untie me but instead, he fed me the food instead.
"You are even lucky that I feed you, now open up before I crack that head of yours open" he barked at me when I refused to eat.
I had no other choice but to let him feed me after that. When he finished feeding me, he walked out without even feeding me water and the food he gave me just stuck to my chest. Trust me, if I weren't immortal, I would have died before morning in the hands of that man.
It was morning when I heard him trying to untie me. I jerked up from my sleep.
"Don't you dare try to do anything silly" he said.
"The masters have ordered me to bring you to them and so, you are going to quietly follow me" he added.
I gulped at his revelation. I knew for a fact that I would not be able to escape them this time if they ever get to lay their hands on me. I began to panic just by the thought of what they might do to me after that. The last time they caught up with me, it wasn't a very good experience and my gut was telling me it would be much worse this time.
He pulled me up and started to walk away. Soon, we walked out of the building that he kept me in and the sun blinded my eyes for a few seconds. It also did the same to him I noticed.
Taking that as an advantage, I quickly turned around while he was trying to cover up the sun ray with his hand and hit him right where the sun doesn't shine, real hard.
He fall to the ground, cursing.
"You bitch, I'll get you for that" he cursed at me.
I wasn't even listening to him as I tried to dial on the transporter but to me horror, it wasn't fully charged and maybe there was no way I could charge it again.
By then, he seemed to be back to his senses and he made a run to catch me and on seeing that, I took to my feet as well and I ran like I never did before and I have been running none stop since from that day for there was no way I would let him take me to them.
