Chapter 4: Tick

I wake up. I jump out of bed and run to my door. I open my door and run out to my living room.
"Eddie! Eddie! Eddie are you there?" I yell. He's not here. Suddenly I fly back into my wall. I close my eyes but when I open them I'm not at my home. I'm somewhere else. It's red, foggy, and cold.

Instead of me being against my wall I'm against something else. I look around. I look the the left and then I hear a voice from the right.

"Astrin..." someone says. "Who are you!?" I yell.
"You know who I am" He says as he walks out of the darkness. Vecna. "What do you want?" I yell at him. Vines begin to wrap around me. Around my neck, ankles and wrist.

"you." He say lowly. "Why...?" I ask him. It begins to get harder to breath."You know why." He responds to me. As of right now I am the only thing who can destroy him. He wants to get rid of me so he can do whatever he pleases.

"let me go." I whisper. "What did you say?" He asks. "I said let me go!" I scream and close my eyes. I open my airs and everything is black. The vines are not holding me back. Vecnas not there. It's just black. I've been in a place like this before. Once I came back to my world I ran out to my living room to make sure Eddie was there.

"Hey are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah...Yeah I was just making sure you were here." I responded. "Wait why wouldn't I be here?" He said confused.

I sat down on the couch next to him. "I first heard a ticking noise and I came out to tell you. It's just you weren't there. You were just gone. Then I was somewhere else. I saw something. It was Vecna. He was there and then he wasn't and I was just surrounded by darkness." I said as my voice cracked.

Eddie looked up to me and rubbed my back to help comfort me. "Are you okay?" he asked me. "Yea it was just scary you know?" I responded quietly. "yeah..."

I sat down and wrapped up in a blanket. I watched TV with Eddie. I got up to get something from my room. "Hey where are you going?" He asked.

"I'm just going to get something Ill be back." I responded while walking away. I went into my room and got a journal and pencil. I walked back out and sat on the couch. I started drawing me against a wall. Vines holding me back. The fog. Vecna in the darkness. "Woah what is that?" Eddie asked. "It what happened while I was with Vecna." I responded not looking up from my drawing. "That looks scary but the drawing is amazing." He said.

I looked up to him "Thanks" looking back down at my drawing I added a bit more detail. "Where did you learn to do that?" He asked. "I spent much time alone. I got bored easily and started drawing." I responded.  "Do you like being alone?" He asked.

I look back up at him "Sometimes, but also I can only be around certain people without just wanting to leave." "Do you want to leave right now?" He asked.

I look back down at my paper "no, I don't want to be alone right now." I look back up at him. He nods his head. I put my drawing to the side and scoot closer to Eddie. I begin to watch TV. I sit there in silence and start to doze off.

I wake up in the morning with my head on Eddies shoulder and his head tossed back. I immediately get up and go to my room to get changed.
