Chapter 13: Past

We kept walking in the woods. Hearing the bats screech and thunder all around us made me more scared.

"Couldn't we have tried a road, or something just slightly less creepy?" Robin said.

"I think we're getting close. We're almost out of here. Don't worry." Nancy said to Robin.

I continued to walk and got pushed a little behind Nancy and Robin.

"Eddie. Eddie. Hey, man. Uh... Listen, I just, uh... I just want to say thanks. For saving my ass back there." Steve said to Eddie causing me to look over to them.

"You saved your own ass, man. I mean, that was a real Ozzy move you pulled back there." Eddie said. Steve just looked confused. "Ozzy? When you took a bite out of that bat." Eddie said trying to help Steve figure out who Ozzy was.

" Ozzy Osbourne? Black Sabbath? He bit a bat's head off onstage." I said to Steve. "How do you not know who that is. He's like a legend." I said shocked.

"I don't... " Steve trailed off.

"It's very metal, what you did." Eddie said giving up with the Ozzy thing.

I began to walk and not pay attention to Steve or Eddie.

I kept hearing my name be brought up though. I was just not curious enough to hear them.

After walking for what felt like forever there was a loud rumble. I looked over to Eddie and Steve. They fell down for a second. I looked over and lost my balance. I remember falling. Then nothing.

Everything was black. Then...

I immediately opened my eyes and I ran and ran as far as I could. Passing by what felt like hundreds of trees. It seemed as if no amount of running would get me out of the woods. I threw my self on the ground and started to panic. What do I do? I looked around. Seeing red fog begin to seep through the trees.

I got on my knees "Just come on Vecna. I'm here! What do you want!?" I cried out to Vecna. I was tired of this. I just want to be left alone. I don't want to be here like this anymore.

I heard a branch snap causing me to snap my head up. I looked all around me and saw a woman. She was walking and hid behind a tree. She looked familiar. I couldn't see her face though.

"Stay out of my head." I heard a deep voice say. Causing me to look around but then everything was just black.

I woke up. The whole group was around me and me head was throbbing. I touched my head pulling my hand to my eyes I saw blood. "Is it bad?" I asked the group.

"Thank god your awake!" Eddie said.

"yea...yea... Im awake." I said sitting up. I felt a little blood dripping from my nose.

I stood up and wiped my nose. Me and the group continued walking.

"Did it happen again?" Eddie asked.

"What?" I questioned.

"You know, Vecna?" He said causing me to look up to him.

"What makes you think that?" I asked trying to play this off.

"Your eyes were doing that weird moving thing and your nose it was bleeding." He said.

"Yeah, Yeah it happened but it wasn't to scary this time." I said to him.

"Well what did you see?" He asked

"A woman." I said continuing to walk.

"A woman?" He said confused.

"Yes and I heard Vecnas voice." I said "Get out of my head, Is all he said" I told Eddie.

He looked at me. "What does that even mean?" He asked.

I shrugged my shoulders and continued to walk. I felt a hand begin to place itself with mine. It was Eddies. He intertwined our fingers. I looked at our hands then up to him and smiled.

This brings a warmth to my heart.

We continued to walk. Then we finally see it. Nancys house. We all walk to her house and enter it.

"Might be time to get a maid, Wheeler." I said walking up the stairs.

"Come on. I don't want to stay here longer than we have to." Nancy said looking around her homes replica.

Me, Nancy, Robin, and Eddie walked into Nancys room and she began to look around for guns. I took a seat in her bed waiting for her.

"Those aren't guns." I heard Eddie say causing me to shoot my head up.

"These heels are pointy, but I was hoping for a deadly projectile." Robin said. Heels? Heels? What the fuck? I jumped up and walked over to them.

"I don't understand." Nancy mumbled.

Me neither.

"Maybe you left them somewhere else." Eddie said.

Nancy looked up to him. "There's a six-year-old in the house. I know where I keep my guns." She said. She looked around her "room" "And also, I threw these away years ago." She said.

"Okay seriously what's going on?" I questioned. I began to look around her room more and more. She looked down at her desk picking up index cards. She began to flip through them.

"I get that grades are important, but perhaps studying can wait till we get out?" Robin said to Nancy.

"These are from sophomore chemistry." She said looking around her room. She began to walk over to her wall. She looked at her walls confusedly "And this... this wallpaper, this is old wallpaper." She looked around some more. Stopping at a mirror. "And this mirror, this went to a yard sale." She turned and picked up a stuffed animal. "And you... You're not supposed to be here. No, I gave you to Cousin Joanna two years ago" She said.

"What is it? Nancy? You're freaking me out." I exclaimed.

"I think the reason that my guns aren't here is because they don't exist yet." Nancy said looking at us.

"They don't... exist?" Eddie said curiously.

Nancy picked up a diary and showed it to us. "This diary should be full of entries. It's not. The last entry is November 6, 1983." Nancy said. "The day Will went missing." We all looked up to her."The day the gate opened."

I looked at all of them. "We're in the past." I whispered loudly.
