"Hey," May sighed when she opened the front door to their new condo. "Thanks for coming. I think he's in his room, that's where I left him, but he could be out on the balcony too."

"You're welcome, May. I'm just as worried, trust me," I stepped into the condo and greeted her with a hug.

Neither of us had any time for pleasantries, so I excused myself to the back hallway to find Peter's bedroom.

I knocked a few times just to warn him I was coming in if he was indecent. Oddly, I didn't hear a reply, so I entered the room. And it's empty.

But, I know Peter. I know how his brain works when he's upset. He's not hard to read. And I've known him since we were kids.

He's on the roof.

I stepped out of the glass sliding doors of his balcony and looked up towards the top of the building.

"Hey, bug boy? It's me. I know... you may not want any visitors right now. But... I'm okay just keeping you company..." I tried not to get choked up. "I miss you. We haven't talked much in a week."

It was silent. I'd begun to worry if I was just talking to the air and Peter decided to do a round of patrols instead.

Feeling defeated, I turned towards the edge of the balcony and gazed over at the nightly aesthetic of the busy streets of New York. I wiped a tear and sighed, just about to give up and go back home.

When a strong arm snaked around my waist from behind and began lifting me upwards towards the roof.

"Pete," I gasped, grasping onto his arm.

"Hold on," He mumbled quietly.

Once we'd made it to the roof, he and I picked our usual spots lying on the concrete to look up at the sky.

"Here," Peter gently lifted my head up and tucked his jacket underneath my head so I could lay on it. Then he crossed his arms back over his chest and returned to staring up at the stars.

Silently.

Guessing he heard my offer of just keeping him company, I figured he didn't want to talk.

Which I understood, but it had also been almost an entire week since I'd had a decent conversation with him.

I miss my boyfriend.

"Come here," He sighed softly and pulled me to his side. Eagerly, I wrapped an arm over his stomach and nestled my head against his shoulder. "Your pulse skyrocketed."
