Chapter Two
The Day Before Death

═════ ✥.❖.✥ ═════

❝I'm not a human... not anymore.❞

YOUR CONDITION WAS GETTING worst after three weeks from your birthday. The doctors confirmed that there's nothing else they can do to save you, it was now just a matter of time before you leave this world once and for all. It was shocking to your family...

They were all devastated and sad.

William talked to your doctor and asked him to take you home, he wanted your last days to be in your house between your siblings and family. However, the doctor declared that there has to be medical attention to you, so a nurse will watch over you.

-WILLIAM'S POV-

I was sitting beside my daughter as she was sleeping. I could see that she wasn't comfortable at all, she was panting repeatedly as sweat rolled down her face. It pains me to see her like this without being able to help her. I still remember her words before she slept...

"It hurts, papa... I want it to stop..."

Y/N's words rang in my head like a bell, what can I do to help her? To keep her alive? The nurse with me was giving my child her medicine as she was instructed, but I could see that she was annoyed to do her job. It pissed me off.

I pushed Y/N's hair away to see her face more clearly, "Don't give up, my dear. You're strong." I know this is selfish of me to ask a sick child to fight against a deadly disease, but I couldn't help but hope she would survive. Just then, the door opened to reveal my wife with a happy smile, "William, there's a man claims that he can help Y/N!" Clara exclaimed with delight.

I stood up and squinted my eyes, "What are you saying?" I said, still not believing what she said. Clara didn't say anything and just grabbed my hand, dragging me down to the livingroom.

Once I made it there, I saw an old man sitting on the couch. He looked like he was 70 or 80 years old and appeared to be from Japan or China. The mysterious man waved at me once we sat with him, "Who are you?" I asked while raising an eyebrow suspiciously at him. The man let out a laugh that looked like a giggle, "My name is not important, but what's important is your sick child." He said with his voice wavering slightly.

"How did you know about my daughter?"

"William!"

Clara whispered yelled at me, slightly nudging my side with her elbow. The man let out a hum, "That's my little secret. Now, do you want me to save your daughter or not?" He asked me, his smiled getting somehow mischievous. I looked at my wife to see her giving me pleading eyes. Letting out a sigh, I stood up, "This way." With that, I started to guide him to Y/N's room.

Once we arrived, he proceeded to work on his medicine, "If you're worried, don't be. This cure is made of a special flower called the Blue Spider Lily, it once saved a man with same illness and blissed him with long life. Your daughter will be fine just in a matter of days." The man spoke up suddenly, explaining to me about this cure that he claimed would save Y/N.

I didn't say anything and just watched him inject my child with a strange blue liquid. After a few more minutes, he finished his job, "How much does your cure cost?" I asked with a blank look.

For once, I saw a smirk on his face, "No worries, the price is already paid. In a few days, your daughter will be a new and strong person."

For some reason... I couldn't trust his words and I wish I didn't...

I couldn't believe my eyes...

That old man was right!

A few days ago, nothing changed in Y/N's condition. However, I noticed that she wasn't suffering in her sleep. One day, we were all surprised when we saw her awake, looking down at her hands.

She was sitting in the dark corner away from the sunlight, "Papa, why the sun hurts me?" She asked me this question, but I have no reply to her as I saw burn marks on her skin. I didn't waste any time and threw a blanket on her, picking her up and running out with the rest of my family behind me. To say I was reckless while driving was an underestimate, I was driving like crazy.

When we arrived to the hospital, I quickly dashed to Y/N doctor and explained everything to him.

He did a few tests on her and after the results arrived, the doctor himself was shocked, "Her tests are all clear, the disease has been completely cured!" He exclaimed with utter shock.

"Oh thank god!" Clara cried, covering her mouth while sobbing. I held her close to me as I tried to hold my own tears, "What about the burn marks? Are they severe?" As I asked this, the doctor gave me a look of confusion.

"What burn marks? She doesn't have any when we inspected her."

I just blinked my eyes, but didn't question it anyways. Me and Clara returned to the room where Y/N and the kids were. When we entered, Elizabeth ran to me, "Daddy, why is Y/N hiding under the blanket?" She asked, pointing at her sister who was hiding under the blanket.

I made my way to her and placed my hand on her back, "Princess, why don't you get out?" I asked her, giving her a soft smile.

She peeked out of the blanket, "The sun is hurting me, it's painful." She replied to me.

Since this moment, I knew something wrong happened to Y/N and that old man knows about it.
