"You kissed!" Willow wailed as she drove to Hawkins High.
"Keep your eyes on the road!" Kathy yelled back. Kathy didn't know what to make of the kiss on Sunday. It was amazing, beautiful, absolutely perfect, and even after reassured her that it wasn't out of pity or anything, she was still spooked.

Of course she trusted Eddie, so maybe this was her trauma not wanting her too. She wasn't entirely sure, but she knew that with time, she'd be totally comfortable with Eddie.

"You kissed who?" A quiet voice came from the back seat. Kathy had almost forgotten her sister rode along with her and Willow. Kathy sighed before explaining.

"Y'know the Hellfire Club leader?"
"Yes, Eddie. I like him, he's funny." Eleven smiled talking about him.
"Yeah well, it's him. I kissed him. We've hung out a few times and-"

Kathy was cut off by a girlish scream. She had never seen Eleven this happy in weeks. Clapping her hands together she asked, "Is he your boyfriend?!"
"I don't know, El. We haven't talked much since." Elevens smile shifted slightly, replaced by a smaller one as she quieted down.

The drive was silent after that, they both knew about Kathy's experience with boys and figured she was still processing it.

When they pulled up to the school, Eleven rushed to her boyfriend, probably to tell him the big news. This made her wonder if Mike already knew, maybe Eddie talked about her at Hellfire? The thought made her heart flutter.

Kathy and Willow chatted up to their respective lockers, when a pair of hands wrapped around Kathy's waist and picked her up. The dirty-blonde squealed, then she heard his voice.

"Hey sweetheart!" He exclaimed as her wiggled her around, she started to laugh and Willow just stood there awkwardly.
"Quite the greeting, Eds." Kathy greeted as he set her down

Eddie and Willow looked at each other nervously, not knowing how to approach each other. Kathy seemed to sense this and attempted to relieve some tension.

"Eddie this is Willow," she grabs Eddie's hand. "Willow this is Eddie." she grabs Willows hand and forces the two to shake. They nod their head with the mandatory 'hey' 'hello.' Kathy smiles as if she's dealt with this but the awkwardness is still very much in the air.

"Anyway, Mary." Eddie continues theatrically. "I was gonna ask do you wanna get milkshakes later? Maybe hang out at mine?" He grins into the question, and Kathy can't help but smile back up at him.

"Yeah, sure."
"I'll pick you up after school?" Kathy nods at his question and he gives her a peck on the forehead before walking to class.

Kathy's sure she has literal heart in her eyes as she watches him walk away, but she's drawn out of her trance when she hears a loud gag beside her.

It's Willow, sticking her finger down her throat sarcastically. "You two are so corny, it's disgusting." Kathy rolls her eyes smiling while Willow keeps gagging and laughing.

Eventually, their fun comes to an end when the school bell rings and they are forced to class. They say their farewells and reluctantly walk to their respective classes.

"I don't think she likes me." Eddie speaks to Kathy as he drives to Lorna's. School had gone smoothly and the pair we now free for their 'date.'

"She's just protective," Kathy sighs, "She knows about the whole 'Tommy. H is an asshole' thing and she's just looking out for me. She'll back off when she sees how sweet you are." The girl smiles lovingly at the boy beside her.

Eddie blushes at her compliments and looks down with a grin. He almost forgot how much he'd betrayed her. His mind is constantly occupied by her beauty lately, making him almost forget about the deal with Wheeler.

When the pair arrive at the diner, they're greeted by Fred as always. Kathy swears she's never seen another person behind the counter in all the time she'd been going there, she'd even go as far to say he owns the place.

All the pair have to do is nod at Fred an she starts working. Eddie had gone enough times that Fred had memorised his order. When the duo sat in a booth, Kathy had a question swimming in her mind.

"Hey, uhm- Eds?" She mumbles nervously.
"Yeah sweetheart?" He replies with a grin, obviously not sensing her anxiousness
"I have to ask- what are we now?"

Before Eddie can reply, she starts spitting excuses. "I know we only just kissed and I basically ignored you the whole time but I just wanna know so I can stop being so nervous about it-" Eddie cuts her off by reaching across the table and kissing her gently on the lips.

"We can go slow, babe. No need to lose sleep over it. Whatever you wanna call it, I'm happy either way." He smiles as he speaks. He wanted her to feel comfortable, truly, but he couldn't help but want to be hers, her boyfriend.

"Can we just say- together? For now?" She asks, visibly more calm than before, though her voice shakes slightly. Eddie nods at her words.
"Of course, sweetheart."

As if I'm cue, Fred delivers their respective milkshakes to their shared table and offers a small smile before returning to behind the counter.

The pair talk about random things after that, discussing their days at school, Kathy's sleepover on Friday, Eddie's recent Hellfire session and sip their milkshakes in peace.
