It's Friday, and Kathy couldn't be happier. She got her best friend back, meaning she didn't have to hitch a ride with Billy Hargrove anymore, and to top it off she had plans with Eddie on Sunday.

Kathy thought her life couldn't get better as she and Willow pulled up to the all too familiar video store. "I can't go in there." Willow spoke just above a whisper. She looked like she'd seen a ghost.

She was pale and clammy and if Kathy didn't know any better she would have taken her friend to the hospital. However, Kathy did know better, and she wasn't going to let her best friends recent breakup destroy their weekly tradition.

"Ok, I'll try and be quick!" Kathy said before exiting the car.
"Don't pick anything too graphic, Kath!" Willow warned, and the dirty blonde offered her a wink and a chuckle.

When she entered, she saw no sign of Steve Harrington. This was the second Friday in a row he hadn't worked, and Kathy wondered if it was deliberate.

"Kathy! Oh my god, is Willow ok?" She heard Robins voice from behind the counter. She looked super panicked, as if Willow had been in a car crash.

"She's fine, Rob." Kathy reassured the girl in front of her, and Robin let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm sorry for yelling, I just heard what happened and needed to know how she was." The freckled girl rambled, avoiding Kathy's eyes and looking down nervously at the table.

"Why didn't you just call her?" Kathy asked, she figured they were friends behind the scenes, which Kathy was admittedly upset that she hadn't been informed.

"I felt guilty, I've been comforting Steve since the breakup. Their both good friends and I didn't want to hurt either of them." Robin admitted, playing with her hands.

Suddenly, the girl in front of Kathy lit up. "Hey, I have a really good idea!" She smiled before rushing to the Drama section. She came back to Kathy with The Breakfast Club.

"I know it's not your style, but it's her favourite and it might make her feel better." Kathy was flabbergasted now. She obviously knew Willow's favourite movie, but how the hell did Robin know? She was totally interrogating Willow about this later.

"Ok yeah, good thinking Robin." Kathy complimented before paying and taking the video tape abruptly from Robins clutches. She seriously needed to get to the bottom of this.

When she got back to the car, before Willow could even ask what the movie was, Kathy questioned her friend. "How does Robin know what your favourite movie is?"

"What do you mean?" Willow was a horrible liar, and Kathy could see the sweat on her forehead beginning to build as her friends eyes darted everywhere except for Kathy.

"Robin went and grabbed your favourite movie and said it would make you feel better. Have you been hanging out with Robin?" She knew it was irrational, Willow could be friends with whoever she wanted, but Kathy felt like she had a right to know.

Willow sighed in defeat and started to confess. "Yes, ok! I've been hanging out with Robin. Just us, not even with Steve. We watch movies and play games and k-" Willow cut herself off with a hand over her mouth and her face flushed pink.

"You what, Willow?" Kathy asked a lot softer now. If they were doing what she thought they were doing, she didn't want to push Willow for a confession. Willow's face got even darker and her friends words, and her eyes started to water.

She took a few deep breaths to keep her tears at bay. She opened and closed her mouth a few times, trying to get the words out. Willow suddenly slammed the steering wheel and started sobbing.

"Why is it so hard to say? Why can't I just tell you?" She weeped, and Kathy's heart broke. She reached over and wrapped her arms around her shaking friend, rubbing her arms up and down her back in an attempt to console her.

After a few minutes her sobs turned to whimpers and sniffles, and that's when Kathy decided to speak. "You don't have to tell me yet. You don't have to tell me ever, Low. I just need you to know that I'm here. I don't care what you were doing, as long as your happy, y'know."

Kathy grinned up at Willow, and Willow offered a shy smile in return. "No, no, I will tell you. Just gimmie a sec." She flailed her arms around and grabbed a tissue from the glove box to wipe her nose.

She took one final breath and closed her eyes. "We were- we were kissing. We only did it once and I never spoke to her after that. I felt horrible. The next day was when I told you I don't like Steve anymore. I never liked him, I just wanted to be popular. It's so selfish but- I don't know, Kath, if I went out with him nobody would know I liked girls."

Kathy felt her heart swell with pride. Her friend was comfortable enough to share this with her, and she felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Of course she felt bad for Steve, but she felt sympathy for her friend. She had to keep this secret or she could be bullied, or worse.

Kathy's grin grew impossibly wider before she hugged her friend again. "Shall we go watch the breakfast club and cry, Lady Willow?" She asked after releasing her dark haired friend.

Willow laughed before nodding. "We shall, Lady Kathleen." And with that the Willow started the car and headed to Kathy's cabin.
