|| 18: diabolical ||

Eddie felt defeated on Monday afternoon. He's tried to talk to Kathy and she wanted nothing to do with him. In the process, he caused a scene and made her look crazy in front of the whole school.

That was very clearly not the case. He felt horrible that he just kept messing up, he felt like the universe was against him.

"How did she even find out?" The young voice of Mike Wheeler rang out in the Hellfire club's (the drama) room.
"She probably heard your dumbass make a stupid joke on her way over here." Eddie spoke sharply as he rubbed his face with his hands.

Mike put up his hands in surrendering pose. "Why are you so stressed man, did you really like her?" The raven-haired boy tried again. Eddie had never felt more compelled to hit a child.

"Of course I liked her! Why are you talking like that about your girlfriend's sister, anyway? Imagine if Jane heard." Eddie reprimanded. That made Mike recoil in to his uncomfortable metal chair.

"You gotta get her back dude!" Dustin encouraged. Eddie looked at the boy like he had 2 heads, Dustin rolled his eyes at the look. "Seriously, she looked horrible today!" The metal-head glared at the kid. Dustin mimicked Mike's former hand gesture.

"We're not blind, Eddie. She looked happier when you were going out, even if you were never talking in school. There's rumours about her past, Tommy. H and all-" the mention of Kathy's ex boyfriend made Eddie grit his teeth.

"-but what I know for a fact is that you're meant for each other, you even gave us an easier time during sessions." Dustin finished his pep-talk. Eddie considered it, he definitely had to start torturing the party again, had he really gone soft?

He didn't reply to any of Dustin's words, too involved in his own thoughts. He started the session after a few moments, but Kathy was still in the back of his mind, as per usual.

Even a blind person could see he was off, going especially easy on the gang and sometimes skipping out on sound affects or funny voices. They let it slide, more concerned for their friend/father figure than a fantasy game.

After the session was over, everyone left. When Eddie got home, he sank straight into his bed, devastated at his failed attempt at getting Kathy back.

Kathy left school the moment the bell went. She would be damned if she let herself stay in that wretched school a moment longer. She knew Eddie had Hellfire straight after school today, so she wasn't concerned about seeing him.

On her way to Willows car, a not-so-friendly familiar face towered over her. "Hey, Kath." Billy. Just what she needed right now.
"What." She replied, she could've slapped him, but she was running on fumes and lacked the energy.

"Just wanted to tell you something." He spoke sassily, not out of the usual.
"I'm waiting." She snapped at him.
"You've done a lot for Max, she's not unbearable most of the time because of you and your sister-" Kathy rolled her eyes at his pretend hatred for the ginger.

"-and I owe you. If that freak ever bothers you again, let me know, I'll put him right." Kathy didn't have the one to respond before he patted her shoulder roughly, lit a cigarette and walked over to his camp-as-fuck car.

She was shaken, very obviously confused by his actions. She barely knew the guy, Kathy figured he either wanted to get in a fight or he really cared for his sister. She honestly didn't care, it's yet another person that has pledged their allegiance to her.

God, she felt diabolical thinking that, but maybe the beautiful, curly haired Munson needed a slap in the face to remind him of what he did. The thought of forgiving him crosses her mind frequently, but the dirty-blonde can't let herself, she swore she'd never let this happen again.

The girl shook her head and once again started her journey to Willow's car, almost crying thinking about her morning and early-afternoon. She slammed the door and the car started immediately, Eleven already in the car.
