"Do I have to go?" Kathy moaned as she exited the cabin.
"Yes Kath, it'll be like exposure therapy." Willow spoke cheerfully. She'd spent all of Sunday eating Robin's, then proceeding to tell Kathy in great detail.

Kathy felt lonely as shit, even with her best friend. It seemed nothing ever went her way, not even once, the dirty blond looked down at the dirt and sighed, holding her red cardigan around herself tighter.

They all got in Willow's car, Eleven and Max included, and started to make their way to Hawkins High. It was a quiet drive, Max and El made partial conversation but it always ended as quick as it started, an awkward silence following.

When the quartette got there, Kathy shrunk even further back into the car seat. Willow smiled sympathetically and nudged Kathy, the younger duo had already left the car.

"It'll be fine, Kath. If he even dares to look at us I'll beat his ass, you know I will." Willow tried to uplift Kathy, but it didn't work. Kathy hesitantly left the car before slamming the door.

"Geez, shut the door Kath." Willow murmured but Kathy all but glared at her dark-haired best friend, that made Willow shut up.

Kathy looked around the car park, but when her eyes fell upon Eddie's truck she quickly looked down at the concrete and made her way into the building.

They walked side by side through the halls. It was a normal day, but Kathy still had this sinking feeling. Like everything was gonna go wrong and she just couldn't shake it.

She walked to her locker and violently pulled books from inside it. She was not to be fucked with today.

"Kathy?" A deep, gravelling voice said. Fuck no.
"Get the fuck out of my sight before I scalp you Munson!" Kathy wailed before Willow could even start to defend her.

"Please, hear me out!" Eddie pleaded, giving Kathy an apologetic look with the beautiful brown eyes of his.
"Fuck no, Eddie! I-" Kathy stopped herself, people had already stopped and started to observe them, like animals in a fucking zoo.

Kathy nudged past him, quick as a fox, before running to her safe place. The library.

She knew she couldn't go home, her dad was infamous in the small town, he's been informed. She'd rather skip and risking being marked absent.

Much to Kathy's relief she wasn't followed, thank god she thought. Being as she was (almost, we can't forget Mr. Green) on her own she pulled out a random book from the shelves and started reading.

That book ended up being the hobbit, when she finally pulled herself together and realised she nearly had half the mind to throw the book back at the shelf. It was that assholes favourite.

She felt like she was suffocating, she couldn't escape this stupid metal-head she'd met a few weeks ago. This stupid, stupid, amazing boy who showed her nothing but kindness since the day she met him.

Where did it all go wrong? Why was he so nice to her if it was all fake? He was motivated by money, after all. Money makes people do horrible things, money, money, money.
