The Writer

My writer in the dark,

I watch as you

close our chapter without mark.

The protagonist: the role

In which I play

Is left a tired ol' soul,

Finding his way.

The twin flames burned our pages,

But your ink stains,

& While I bear my pains,

Your pen flows for ages.

Romance you left unwritten,

My page's ghost

Haunt until time has stricken,

Knowing this tale,

Is the one you will not boast.

Time will come for revision,

And you will find me with a heart now writhen.
