Murph's POV:
December 26th. One of the days I despised the most, the lack of Christmas cheer, the misery of taking down decorations. December 26th sucked and that was a fact. So when I woke up, last nights happenings flashed through my head. Steve visiting, Jonathon kissing me.

I groaned at the thought. The last time we'd kissed we were 10 and that was because of the worlds first 10 year old wench called Kristen Green. She'd hosted a birthday party which conveniently was the only party me and Byers had been invited to. When we'd arrived she had set up spin the bottle in which my first spin landed on a kid called Emerson Gray (I know! Beautiful name. Murphy Gray had sounded so good back then.) who I had a huge earth shattering crush on at the time.

Jonny knew this and knew I was about to embarrass the hell out of myself (having not had my first kiss) to be completely fair, I shot him the eyes, the 'please do something I'm about to cry' eyes. The circle involved, me and Jonathon of course, Sara Danvers (not the brightest but an honestly sweet girl) Nancy Wheeler, Satan's spawn (AKA Kristen Green), Emerson Gray, Kurt Hollow and Steve freakin' Harrington. 8 People in total.

You may be wondering where preppy Green's other friends were, let me enlighten you, they were playing in her princess bouncy castle. Back then Nancy was what I considered a friend, I didn't realise she was well.. afraid of Kristen while I.. wasn't. When the bottle landed on Emerson, I freaked. Looking around the circle, panicked. Before I could do anything Jonathon pressed his lips to mine and I almost threw up. He'd always been like a brother to me, the thought of kissing him was .. well gross.

When he pulled away, everyone's eyes were widened. Emerson angrily looked over at Jonathon. "Sorry, thought it landed on me." Jonathon awkwardly laughed. After that, Kristen kissed Emerson in front of me before kicking me and Jonathon out of the party for "creating drama".

THAT was the last and only time me and Byers had ever kissed. After, we never discussed it, I assumed he'd done it to help me out which I appreciated. I was in no way prepared to kiss my all time crush. Rolling over in my bed, I checked the time before pulling the covers over my head. Hoping my eyes were deceiving me because I really did not want to get up.

When I mustered the energy to get my ass up, I, like usual, brushed my teeth and washed my face. Making my way down and as per usual, I ruffled Dustin's curly locks however, newly pressing my lips to my moms cheek and grabbing a bagel from her, I made my way out. Jumping over the last step, I unlocked my car and got in, turned the engine on and made my way over to The Byers'.

As per usual, I parked sloppily, got out of my car with a cigarette hanging from my lips and made my way to the front door which I tapped twice. "Hey! How are you feeling?" Joyce asked, she'd been coddling me a lot since I came out of the upside down with Will (I wasn't complaining in all honesty I loved it) pulling me inside and into a hug. "Hey, I'm good. A little tired but I'm good." I reassured as she smiled at me. "Oh Murph. It's good seeing you healthy." She smooched. I hugged her tightly before taking a seat at their table opposite Will whose eyes lit up when he saw me.

In the hospital, we had been quite inseparable. Call it a trauma bond if you will. He jumped up to his feet and ran into my arms as I held him close. "Hi little Byers." I greeted. "I drew you something." He motioned I follow him as I did. Joyce called out behind us "I wanna hear all about Christmas when you're done Murph!" I shouted back a quick "For sure!" In response before crouching down in the living room where Will's crayons were spread out.

It was a drawing of us titled "My Big Sister, The Superhero" In big blue letters. I found a lump make it's way up my throat as I pulled him into my side. "This is fuc... freaking awesome buddy." He laughed as I ran a hand over his hair. "Can I take this?" I asked. He nodded excitedly. "You saved me." He spoke. "You're mom and Hop saved us." I replied. "You're a superhero," He grinned. I nodded. "Yep that I can't deny." As he laughed I slowly got up. Hugging him for the thousandth time and kneeling down to his height.
