Chapter 47

Selena's POV
I was at the hospital with Zedd, visiting Charlotte. She's three months and I made sure she had a big private room. It's about $20,000 every two months. They charge me every two months. We walked into her room. She was in her crib. We brought it here and transformed her room. We even got the hospital to let us paint the walls. I looked down at her. She's so beautiful. She has dirty blond hair that's soft, big brown eyes, and the littlest body ever. I almost cried. I picked her up. She didn't make a sound. That's also why I love her. She never makes a sound. I felt her stare at me. Her brown eyes looked into my soul. I felt like I was telling her everything about me, all my mistakes, secrets, and accomplishments. But she also reminded me of Zedd. She jokes around a lot and she always makes me smile. I looked at Zedd. He had tears in his eyes. He hates that she's here and not with us. I smiled at him and handed her to him. He smiled, tears still streaming out of his eyes. He held her close. He's very overprotective. I kissed his cheek. He gazed at me adoringly. Right now are the moments when I realize he's my soulmate.

Charlotte's POV
(I know she can't talk but I'm going to make her think) I looked at my Mom and Dad. My Mom kissed my Dad. He did the same. At least I know I make them happy. I looked around my room. My bed or as they say "crib" was in the middle of the room. The walls were lavender with "Charlotte" scrolled across in fancy writing. I know I'm not at home. Mom and Dad don't sleep here, they go home after two hours. I wished they'd stay though. I don't like being in this awful place by myself. Wondering why it's awful? I can hear people dying across the hall or even on the next floor. Sometimes even dead bodies pass by my room. I also hear people in agony, screaming. Mostly it's the Butterfly Children screaming in agony as their skin peels off as their mothers are forced to scrub them. It's painful to listen to. Too bad I'm suffering as well. Sometimes I wake up as my body is in enormous pain and I wail until the nurse comes. It's hard, for me and everyone else.
