Your POV

You and Jungkook make your way to the elevator. You catch him staring at you.

"What is it?" You ask playfully. You smile at him.

Jungkook has been acting super strange the last couple of months. He always seems to be around at the office. He's constantly suggesting lunches and dinners with the teams. The team loves it. They get to enjoy some time with their boss and a free meal is always yummy.

You do your best to maintain your distance. It's hard when he's always around. You refuse a few lunches and dinners so you're not surrounded by his charm.

The last 3 months you've just been focusing on your career. Work has been your biggest distraction lately. You've had multiple presentations that you needed to do so it was good to throw yourself into work.

You ihspend time with Jungkook every Sunday to visit halaboji but that's it. Those days are hard. You spend your week trying your best to get away from Jungkook but then on Sunday you have to act like he's the love of your life. You have to act like you're a couple, holding hands, smiling sweetly, resting on his chest. All of the gestures, you still have to do. You have to fall for his charm all over again and be happy.

Then you have to go home at the end of the day and try to forget it all. You have to maintain the distance and not fall for Jungkook. It's hard and you've been struggling.

You're hoping that as time continues to pass and you slowly become better and letting it go.

You still feel bad for lying to halaboji. However, there are a lot more hints of his retirement. It looks like Jungkook will become CEO in the next year. Your story still seems to be convincing. A few more months left of this.

On your days off you hang out with Min-a and Hannah. You update them every week. They seem to think that Jungkook has a crush on you but maybe you're telling the story weird.

Flashback
"So this is the 3rd lunch this week?" Hannah's pouring another round of shots.
"Yeah I mean he's been doing this the past couple of months. He just likes spending some quality time with the teams."
"He's also been asking you to go up and share docs with him? Isn't that what email is for?" Min-a watches Hannah pour the shots and raises her eyebrows.
"I guess but it's fine. Sometimes it's nice to see it printed to add your own notes to it."

"He's definitely just trying to find ways to spend time with you. He's crushing." Hannah slams down her glass.

"No way! He told me he didn't want us get the wrong idea about what our relationship. It's strictly business."

"You're a challenge. You're the first person to reject him and he can't believe it." Min-a's instincts were usually on point.

"Min-a is right, babe. You're also a catch! Who wouldn't crush on you? You're like a hot librarian. He's never been rejected before so he probably just trying to see if he can still get you. Just don't fall for his charm. A player will always be a player. We're over guys like Jackson." Hannah offers you a warm smile.
End of flashback.

The elevator arrives and you both step in.

He returns the smile."Nothing, I'm just glad you're joining the dinner today." Then he flashes his bunny teeth at you.

"Yeah, if it's to welcome Nara then I should there."

He turns to look at you.

"I spoke to Halaboji this afternoon and wants to treat us to a vacation in Jeju. He has a beautiful home that we can stay in. He'll be joining us but it's big enough where we wouldn't really run into him. Would you be able to go next week?"

You bite your lip.

"Ummm.. how would that work? Would we be in separate rooms?"

"I'll figure out the logistics but like I said, it's big enough where we wouldn't run into him. I'm assuming we'd just have to show up for a few meals. We could always tell him that we're going out for the day/eve and do our own thing. It would only be for a week."

"Wouldn't it look weird when both the CMO and Marketing Director take the same week off? Also what about work?"

"Only if we make it weird. I can say I'm going somewhere with halaboji and you can just say you're taking a much deserved vacation. It'll be fine. After COSRX we're pretty quiet."

"Jungkook... I —"

"Y/N, I know I'm super close to becoming CEO. It almost feels like this is a celebratory vacation."

You sigh. It does appear that way. You've been doing so well at keeping Jungkook at a distance. However, you know it'll all be worth it in the end.

Him standing so close to you in the elevator is already making you feel butterflies. You can feel the intensity of his stare and you go back to stare at his physique. Still just as handsome and sexy as when you first met. It's hard to say no to him, the lines are still blurry between personal and professional.

"Okay, Jungkook. I'm in." You catch him smiling to himself. Weird.

You walk together towards the restaurant and everyone is there. A few coworkers whisper when you walk in together but you try not to pay attention to it.

Jungkook notices it too. He flashes everyone his dimple and takes a seat at the end of the table. Naturally the seat next to him is also empty so you sit down beside him.

Luckily Namjoon is on your other end. Nara is across Namjoon beside Jungkook with Jennie, Yoongi, and Tae on the other end.

"Sorry to keep everyone waiting. Welcome to the team, Nara!" Jungkook's charm doesn't go unnoticed. Nara is swooning over her CMO.

"Thank you, Mr. Jeon." Nara blushes as she responds.

"Let's all eat."
