Chapter 6: Break Time

Keefe's POV

Keefe heaved a sigh of relief. Did he just....hinted to Sophie that he liked her? Well, it seemed to be that way. Della handed out butterblasts and mallowmelt to each and every one of them. After everyone had at least one snack, the boys and girls formed their own circles. Keefe could feel Foster's eyes staring at him. He glanced to his right and their eyes met. Sophie blushed and hid behind her hair. Keefe stiffled a snort, making sure it wasn't loud enough for the boys to hear. 

Then, a thought struck him. Should he confess? I mean, with this 'love is in the air' aura, it shouldn't be too hard to. Keefe shook his head. What was he thinking? Why would a smart, beautiful, talented girl like Sophie, like him? He was nothing compared to Fitz, who was Wonderboy and had almost a perfect life. Him? His father was a total jerk, that's one. Two, his mother was a member of the neverseen. Overall, his parents are terrible, no, more than terrible. 

Keefe cleared all those thoughts away. He was here to enjoy and spend time with his friends. Not start thinking about his awful parents who couldn't care less about him. He took a deep breath in and cleared his mind, filling it up with the conversation the four they were having. 

Sophie's POV

Did Keefe like her? THE Keefe Sencen? The words tumbled around in her head as she chewed on her butterblast. As she swallowed it down, she turned and saw Keefe staring into space. Lost, in his own thoughts. She found herself staring and wondered how she never noticed how good looking he was in just a simple positon. Just then, Keefe turned and their eyes met. Sophie's eyes widened and she turned red. She covered her face with her hair. Ugh, she must've looked like and idiot. 

She focused back to the conversation the girls were having. She finally caught up on what they were discussing about. 

"You like DEX?" Biana was exclaiming, as Marella nodded. Sophie grinned. She's known about this a few days after Dex confessed his crush on her. Sophie had kept it a secret, in case Marella got mad. She had told her that she liked Dex too. 

"Omg! I can't believe it! You guys will be so cute together!" Biana said, fluttering her eyelashes. We all laughed. Just then, Linh spoke, "Uhm, guys. I have something to tell you...." 

(Okay, so once in a while, there will be POV's of the characters. If you don't see any, then that means there's no POV and it's from a narrator's point of view.)

"I have a crush on Fitz," Linh blurted out. The three girls stopped chewing and stared at her. Then, they all exclaimed, "AWWW! THAT'S SO CUTE!" They must've been pretty loud because the boys whipped their heads to face them and asked, "What's so cute?" 

"Nothing," Sophie answered and Keefe gave her a cocked eyebrow. She crossed her arms over her chest and frowned to show she was serious. Keefe got the message and shrugged. "If you say so." As soon as they turned around, they continued squealing over Linh's confession. 

"But Sophie, aren't you angry at all?" Linh asked. 

"Angry? Why would I be angry?" 

"Because you dated him?" 

Sophie laughed. "Oh, that? That was a long time ago....I finally know who I actually want to be with." she glanced a look at Keefe, who was in the midst of laughing about something. She smiled. 

"Ooh, Ms Oblivous here is smiling~!" Biana cooed and Sophie shoved her. 

"Yeah, well wait till you see your face once we get on about YOUR crush!" Sophie countered. Biana turned bright red and Sophie giggled. 

"H-hey! I thought we were talking about Linh?" Biana stammered. 

"Well, now that you mention him, let's talk about YOU Biana!" Linh teased and Biana groaned. "So, tell me," she added, "Why do you like my brother?"

"Do you want details?" Biana asked and Linh, Sophie and Marella nodded their heads vigorously up and down. Biana sighed and took a deep breath in. "Okay, so, I like him because....not gonna lie he's cute. But other than that, he's really kind-even thought he has that dark aura- and a big softie once you get to know him properly. In terms of appearance? He's handsome. My type of handsome." Biana summarized. 

"Wow. I didn't know you can like so many things in one boy," Marella joked. 

"Well, duh. This is TAM we're talking about. In Biana's eyes, he's more than okay. He's special," Sophie added and Biana flushed in embarassment.
