Chapter 13: Girls Talk

The moment Sophie entered Biana's room, the girls pounced on her, asking things like, "Where've you been?" and "What took you so long?"

But Biana was the one that noticed the necklace.

"OH MY GOD! IS THAT FROM KEEFE?!" she shrieked, her face scrunched up in delight and her hands clapping together. Marella and Linh stared at Sophie, waiting for Sophie's answer. 

"Ding ding ding," Sophie mumbled, only audible for the girls to hear. 

The room broke out in squeals and shrieks. Sophie had to shout over their voices to calm them down.

"It's just a gift! He said it was his reward from him for taking down his mum and still managing to pass exams!" Sophie argued. 

"Hey, I can be the one taking Lady Gisela down AND passing my exams with flying colors, and NOT get a reward, you know? He's only giving to you because he likes you!" Biana squealed, Marella and Linh nodding along.

"You don't know that. It could be JUST a gift," Sophie argued, but a teeny weeny pinch of hope grew in her. 

Biana rolled her eyes. "Sophie, a boy DOESN'T just RADOMLY give a girl a NECKLACE because she saved the world, defeated his mum and passed her exams all at one go," she states. Then, she catches Sophie's 'are-you-sure' glare and sighs. 

"Look, Sophie, this is KEEFE we're talking about. KEEFE SENCEN. Not my brother. Not Dex. Those two, if they liked you, would've bought you gifts every day. Fitz especially." Biana explain, then turning to Linh and Marella with a 'no offense' look. The both of them just shook their head kindly, understanding that their crushes did used to have a huge crush on Sophie. (If you read the Keeper Series.) 

"And you know that," Biana continues, turning back to Sophie, "you know what Fitz used to do every time you wanted to just meet up. He'd buy you gifts or make ones. But has Keefe ever done so?" 

"No..."Sophie mumbles.

"Excatly! So why, out of all the reasons, would he give a darn neckalce-which by the way, I'm super jealous about-JUST BECAUSE YOU DEFEATED HIS MUM AND PASSED YOU EXAMS?!" she exclaimed. 

This made Sophie rethink her conclusion about why Keefe gave her the necklace. Come to think of it, Keefe never bought presents. He never even made the effort to go to Atlantis to even look. That was the Keefe Sophie knew. Now that she was thinking like Keefe, suddenly, Biana's statements made a whole lot of sense. 

"I guess you're right. But, I can't be to sure can I?" Sophie admitted. 

"Well, in this case, I guess you should probably just start observing. I mean I've seen Keefe staring at you once in a while, but he's conscious of his surroundings. He know someone will catch him," Linh suggested as Biana brushed her waist-length jet black hair. She only stopped at the silver ends.

"Linh's right. Knowing Keefe, he's probably trying to keep his cool right now, especially after you kissed him," Biana teased, making Sophie turn bright red. How many times has she done that today? 5? 6?

"Well, it wasn't the best one, knowing there were certain PEOPLE watching," Sophie mumbled. 

Biana rolled her eyes. She continued combing Linh's hair. After a few awkward seconds, Linh spoke up,

"There are never time people are NOT watching."

What Linh said was very true. I mean, to me it is. It's like, even though you do something in private, you may never know, someone took a peek at you. Or is/was recording you. Heck yeah, it could even be Biana vanishing and spying on you! Whatever it is, be careful out there. (Especially dark and creepy places)
