Hallie
Dacre left for an audition and I got myself ready for the day. I had a shoot later and then we were going to an awards show, so we had a relatively busy day. I put some makeup on and threw my hair up. Today I was going for casual. "This should do." I mumbled to myself in the mirror after I threw on an athletic set with some golden goose sneakers. There wasn't going to be any actual physical activity today just wanted it to look like it.
I grabbed my purse and looked at where I needed to go today. First stop the location Austin sent me this morning. Yes, I decided to do it. I walked down to my car and started it, checking my surrounding before backing out of my space. I drove to the destination he sent me, which took me about 30 minutes outside of town. Some shady building with a parking lot behind it that had a tall privacy fence around it. "What the fuck is this place?" I asked myself. I pulled into a spot and not too long after I saw his car pull in. He had a hat on and was trying to make himself look different I guess in case someone saw us. God I hoped they didn't. He opened up my car door and sat down. My heart melted at the sight of him, I've missed him so much. "Hey." I said. "Hey."
He said back holding strong eye contact with me.I turned my body towards him. "So what is this about?" I asked cutting right to the chase. "I miss you." He said. "I miss you too Austin." I said. "But I came here to mainly tell you some information i've been holding onto. With that being said, you may not want to be with me again, but I'd rather that then keep lying and holding it from you." He said. My heart was beating at unhealthy measures. "Okay." I said. He looked down, "After the whole following situation in London, I paid more attention to our surroundings. I eventually saw more and more cars following us as walked around cities. So I was able to hire a private investigator to look into that situation. I ended up working with my manager and Baz ultimately, because we were still under him at the time, so he was able to help with it being a security issue." He said. "Austin.." I started. "Wait. Just wait." He said.
I nodded, "I was going to meet this investigator once a month, sometimes when I was on a phone call or something it was him giving me updates on what he found, or i'd meet him in town to see what he had found. With that being said he finally narrowed down who it was. Your brother." He said. "No there's no way. Why would he do that?" I asked. "I don't know Hallie." He said. "He was the one that hit us at the accident. I don't know how he pulled it off and made it back to the hospital to be in the room with you, or why. But it was him. It's been confirmed. His license has been taken away and they've arrested him. I got the call this morning." He said. "So you've still been tracking this situation this whole time?" I asked. "Yes. I wanted to make sure you were safe. I was so close to finally getting you an answer. I wasn't going to give up on it." He said. "I appreciate that, I do. But honestly I don't know how to feel. Not about you doing all of this, I appreciate that too because if it were just me living out my life, then i'd be stalked for the rest of it, and who knows what else. I just can't wrap my head around the whole it being my brother situation. I don't know why, or how? How had he been my biggest nightmare growing up and then tried to take my life when i've done nothing but trying to be nice to him, up until I realized I didn't have to." I said.
"I understand. I just wanted you to know, you don't have to be afraid of looking over your shoulder anymore." He said. I reached over, pulling him into a hug I needed more than anything. I was numb, frozen and completely dumbfounded by what he had just told me. It's almost like he was reading a script and I was forced to act this scene out with him. There was no way this was my life. My brother hated me yeah, but he wouldn't try to kill me and then get arrested for it. Things like that don't happen to people like me.
But I guess they do.
"Do you need to get that?" Austin asked, snapping me out of my thoughts as my phone rang through the car. It was Dacre. If I didn't answer he'd be suspicious. "One second." I said. I answered the phone and brought the phone to my ear. "Hey babe." I said. I couldn't let him know I was sitting in the car with Austin. Not that anything had happened to make it seem like I was cheating, I just didn't tell him about the call last night or that I was meeting him so it was just a suspicious situation. "Hey, I was just calling to see what you were doing." He said. "I am about to be at a shoot for the day. What are you up to?" I asked. "Just got out of this meeting, and waiting until I have to go into the next one. I was going to see if you wanted to grab lunch, but If you're busy I can just go get something on my own." He said. " Dang it. I wish I could, but the shoot is on the opposite side of town." I said. "No that's okay! I'll just see you later, if that's okay?" He asked. "Yes it is. Have a good day." I said. "You too baby, I love you." He said. I looked up at Austin who was looking down at his hands. The mannerism that suggested he was either upset, angry, or anxious. "I love you too." I said.
