"rick, you with me?" my hands were still wrapped around his shoulders. i stumbled back when he suddenly got up, going for his axe. i watch as he walks inside.

"rick!" maggie calls out for him, i just shake my head and stand up.

"he, he needs time. was like this when our dad died." i wipe my hands off on my jeans. i tuck a piece of hair behind my ear. i take ellie from daryl.

"let me see the baby." hershel hobbles his way over to maggie, who held out the baby in her arms.

"what are we gonna feed it?"

"we got anything she can eat?"

"the good news is, she looks healthy. but she needs formula. and soon or she won't survive."

"no. no way not her." daryl put his cross bow over his shoulder. "we ain't losing anyone else, going on a run."

"i'll back you up." glenn said.

"me too." maggie hands the baby off to carl.

"ok, think where we're going, beth come here." daryl pulls her off to the side. "kid just lost his mom, his dad isn't doing so hot."

"i'll look out for him." she cradled everest in her arms.

"you two," he points to axel and oscar. "get the gate. too many pile up, we got ourselves a problem. maggie, glenn. vámonos." i watch as they walk away.

"come on, let's get her cleaned up. i'm sure she can fit into one of the twins old onesies." we walk back inside. beth grabbed a washcloth and bottle of water.

"well, hello. you're gorgeous." i smile down to the baby. "let me put these guys down, then i'll clean her up." i tell carl. i motion for beth to follow me.

"if you want, you can go up into my cell and get a onesie." i put the twins into the playpen.

"on it." she smiles, going upstairs. i walk back to carl, taking the baby from his hands. i sit at a table, laying her on it. i unwrap the jacket from her.

i reach across, grabbing the water and cloth. i clean the blood off of her before grabbing the onesie beth had grabbed. i hear the cell block door slam, glenn walking in.

"thought you were going with?"

"i was, but daryl could only take one person on his bike." i nod, pulling the pink and white cloth over the body.

"i'm, i'm gonna go dig a grave." glenn rubbed the back of his neck.

"there's no body for it though." i whisper.

"the thought that counts." he looks to the ground. i lick my lips, handing the baby back to carl.

"i'm going to find my brother." i check my gun, making sure it full before checking i have my knife and a flashlight.

"rory, no. it's-"

"you're not gonna talk me out of this, i'm going." i walk out of the room. i walk around the halls, following the trail of freshly killed walkers.

"rick..." i turn my flashlight into a room. i see him with his back to me, his axe was all bloody. "everybody's worried about you. i'm worried about you." i place my hand on his shoulder.

"rory, you shouldn't be in here." he turns around to face me. he had blood all over him. "it's dangerous."

"no, you shouldn't be in here. come on out. don't do this please." i beg him. "rick, you don't have to do this all by yourself." he just ignored me.

"please don't do this."

"don't do what!" he yelled, causing me to flinch. he rarely ever raised his voice to me. "mourn the loss of my wife!"

"i lost her too rick! carl lost her! your fucking newborn baby didn't even get to meet her!" i yell back.

"she's not my baby!"

"what?" i ask with disbelief. i know biologically she's not his, but i at least thought he would father her.

"the baby, she's not mine. she's shanes." he rubs his hands through his hair. "she thought i was dead. she needed comfort, and she found it in my own best friend. that's why he wanted me out of the picture."

"rick, i know. but that doesn't matter. out of everyone, i thought you would understand that. what happened when dad died, and my mom wasn't an option." i started to cry again. "you took me in, like i was your own. you raised me, like your own. you didn't have to do that. you wanted to do that."

"because i love you, you're my little sister rory."

"that baby doesn't have anyone right now rick, not shane, or lori. they need you, to be there for them when they get older." i wipe my cheeks. "don't be like this." i shake my head, walking out of the room and back to the cells. when i walk through the door the sounds of an engine fill my ears.

i walk over to beth, softly taking the baby from her arms. "look how sweet you are. so precious." i whisper to her. she starts to cry when the door slams open and then shut.

"shh, shh. it's ok." i bounce her softly.

"beth." maggie calls for her as they walk through the door.

"how she doing?" daryl takes her from my arms softly. "shh, i'm sorry, shh." he does my actions from before. beth comes over with a pink bottle.

"come on. come on." she takes the nipple into her mouth. her crying instantly going down.

"she got a name yet?" daryl asks and i shake my head.

"not yet." i sigh.

"i was thinking sofia, then there's carol. and..." carl stops to let out a sigh. "andrea. amy. jacqui. patricia. or, i don't know, lori." carls head hangs low. i pout, walking over to him.

"come here." i pull him into my side. "you're getting taller." i smile at him, noticing he was getting closer to my hight.

"stop growing. i don't want you to." i squeeze him once before letting go.

"huh, you like that. little ass kicker." we all look at him. "right? that's a good name, right?" we all laugh.

"you like that, sweetheart?" he clicks his tongue at her. "little ass kicker."
