narrative

"there ain't nothing but mosquitoes and ants out here." daryl shakes his head.

"patients little brother." merle looks around. "sooner or later, a squirrel is bound to scurry across your path."

"even so, that ain't much food." daryl tells him, moving a branch out of his way.

"more then nothing." merle says, doing the same movement daryl did seconds ago.

"i'd have better luck going through one of them houses we passed back in the turnoff." daryl stops and turns to his brother.

"it that what your new friends taught you? mhm? how to loot for booty?"

"we've been at it for hours." daryl points out. "why don't we find a stream, try to look for some fish?"

"i think you're just trying to lead me back to the road, man. get me over to that prison."

"they got shelter. food. a pot to piss in." rory, evie, ellie. family. he added on in his head. "might not be a bad idea." he shrugged.

"for you, maybe. ain't gonna be no damn party for me."

"everyone will get used to each other." daryl starts to walk once more.

"they're all dead. makes no difference." merle walks next to him.

"how can you be so sure?" daryl didn't believe his brother.

"right about now he's probably hosting a housewarming party where he gonna bury what's left of your pals." merle spits on the ground.

"let's hook some fish, come on." daryl was done with his brother.

"right." merle rolled his eyes.

"now you said you found tyreese's group here?" glenn points to the drawing he made on the concrete floor of the prison.

"yeah." carl nods.

"we secured this." he noted.

"he thought he came through here." carl points to a different part of the 'prison'.

"means there's another breach." glenn says. aurora kept to herself, like she had been doing since tyreese revealed his and sasha's last name. isaiah's siblings.

she walked out of the room when glenn suggested him and michonne go and kill the governor. she scratched her forehead as she peered over the playpen seeing the twins sleeping.

"aurora." she turned to see hershel calling her from the edge of his cell. "can i talk to you?" she nodded, following him into the cell.

"what's up?" hershel patted the spot next to him on the bed. she questioned it a little in her head, but sat down next to him anyways.

"rory, you know i think of you as a daughter right?" hershel placed his hand on her upper back. "i'm worried about you. you've distanced yourself since tyreese and his group was here." she held her breath and looked to outside the cell. tears brimmed her eyes as she thought back to what happened in the past week.

"i— is it bad that i'm relived tyreese and his group left? does that make me a bad person?" she leaned against the cell wall, bringing her knees to her chest.

"i don't know, what's your reasoning for not wanting them here?"

"i knew their brother." she played with a piece of string on her pants.

"isaiah?" she nodded. "was he a friend?" she shook her head no. she sighed, wiping a tear that fell.

"a couple of months before the outbreak. my friend deja, she convinced me to go to a party her boyfriend, jaden, frat was throwing. it was the weekend, i had nothing else to do and i hadn't seen jaden in a while. so i went, i met isaiah, we talked, got along, he was nice. i wasn't planning on drinking. but i ended up having a couple, i didn't drink at all so the alcohol hit me hard. jaden had put me a deja to bed. he put me in a guest bedroom right across from his. he thought i was safe, i thought i was safe. i passed out, but when i woke up. he— he was—" she stopped, looking to hershel, she had more tears trailing down her face now. "he was on top of me. i said no, so many times. but he didn't stop. I didn't tell anyone. not rick, lori, deja, jaden. no one."

"rory, i am so sorry." she ignored him.

"he's the twins dad." she wiped her face with the back of her hand. "i know that because i had never had sex with someone before." she added on.

"you're not a bad person for not wanting them here." hershel told her. she nodded and wiped her tears once more.

"i'm gonna go lay down. i don't feel the best. don't hesitate to wake me up if the twins need something." she stood up from the bed, stretching her arms. she walked out of the cell and to her own.

"the tombs outside the boiler room is overrun again." glenn came through the door, catching the attention of everyone. "that whole section had been cleared. it's a steady stream of walkers." he adds on.

aurora kept making her way up to her cell, closing the slightly behind her. she laid on her side, facing the wall. a million thoughts raced through her head.

"are we gonna talk about this?" glenn pushed open the door to her cell, flooding the room with light. she stayed in her position. "aurora, you need to talk about this." glenn sighed, leaning against the cell doorway.

"i do? or you do?"

"what does that mean?"

"what do you want me to say?" she turned to her other side, looking at glenn. "you want me to say he made me get naked and stand in front of him? he came up behind me. pushed himself against me. put his hands all over me. he slammed my head down and bent me over a table." she said angrily.

"did he..."

"rape me." she finished glenns sentence for him. "no. no."

"do you feel better? i'm not try—"

"i had a choice." she cut him off. "either i take my shirt off or her would take yours and maggies hand. what could i do?"

"i'm sorry." he tried to come closer but she pushed him away.

"go away." she hit his stomach. "you got your answer, now go away!" she hit him again. she watched as he left the cell, closing the door behind him. she sniffled and got back in her original position.

she wanted rick. but he had been outside all day doing who knows what. she also wanted sleep, but that wasn't successful either. she bit her lip a little, rubbing her hand up and down her waist. she got up from her bed and made her way down the stairs.

"come with me to find rick?" she asked hershel.

"of course, i'll be right there. meet me outside." he said, grabbing his crutches. she nodded and made her way outside.

"hey! bum bum bum. got any grapes?"
