"field's filled with walkers. i didn't see any snipers out there." we all gathered in a small tight group. "but we'll keep maggie on watch. i'll get up in the guard tower." rick says.

"take out half them walkers, give these guys a chance to fix the fence." daryl says.

"or use some of the cars to put the bus in place." michonne suggests.

"we can't access the field without biting through our bullets." maggie shakes her head.

"so we're trapped in here there's barely any food or ammo." i say.

"been here before. we'll be all right." daryl shrugs.

"that's when it was just us. before there was a snake in the nest." glenn sneers and i roll my eyes.

"man, we gonna go through this again?" daryl scoffs.

"look, merle's here. he's with us now." i say.

"get used to it." daryl points to glenn before storming off.

"hey-" carol reaches out but he brushes her off.

"seriously, rick, i don't think merle living here is really going to fly." glenn says.

"i can't kick him out." rick shakes his head.

"i wouldn't ask you to live with shane after he tried to kill you." i bite my lip a little.

"merle has military experience. he may be erratic, but don't underestimate his loyalty to his brother." hershel says before walking off.

"what if we solve both problems at once?" glenn asks. "deliver merle to the governor as a bargaining chip. give him his traitor, maybe declare a truce." i gasp a little.

"no! that's so fucked up glenn. i don't like merle, but that's just wrong." i shake my head. "you guys have to realize that this happened because of what happened back in atlanta. if that didn't happen, merle would have never met the governor and we probably wouldn't be in this situation." i say.

"she's right." carol agrees. "you have to claim your part in this too."

"so you're saying this is my fault?"

"who the fuck ever said it was your fault glenn. no one, but you need to accept that what happened in atlanta, which you were apart of, is part of why all this is happening." i throw my hands into the air.

i was scared, no terrified. he had the numbers, he could easily kill us. i didn't want to die yet.

"i'm going to take watch, if maggie wants to come out she can." i check my gun and make sure i have my knife before heading out.

i kinda miss the farm. it was nice there, quiet for the most part. maybe the herd didn't destroy it, maybe it was still standing?

i looked through the little gaps of the wooden pallet, watching as walkers stumble around the yard and through the trees.

the door opens and closes behind me, i turn to see carl and maggie. i smile and pull carl to me. it's been a while since i got a hug from him.

"what's that for?" he pulls away from me.

"just needed a hug." i shrug a little. he wraps his arms around my waist and squeezes me tight. i put arms around his neck and run my hand through his hair.
