"glenn!" i watched as hershel followed glenn to the truck. "you're not going back to woodbury, are you?"

"no. i'm just going out there."

"by yourself?" glenn nodded. "how can you possibly think that's a good idea?"

"i can't just sit on my hands."

"you went on a simple formula run and got the crap beat out of you. aurora was attacked. maggie and you could have died."

"are you saying that's my fault?"

"no." hershel shook his head.

"i did what i could."

"i know you did. so does aurora. she's one of the three people most precious to me in this world. this rage is going to kill you."

"with daryl gone, and rick wandering crazy town. i'm next in charge." glenn says, getting in the truck.

"what are you proving?" glenn ignores hershel and starts the truck, driving off.

"let's go find rick, he can't be far." i say, walking up to hershel. he nods as we make our way down the fields, me helping him.

"rick!" hershel calls out. "rick!"

"rick!" i call out. i watch as he makes his way to the little wooden bridge that was there.

"you know i wouldn't have hobbled my way down here if it wasn't important." hershel tells him.

"are you coming back soon? glenn's on a warpath." i say.

"smart as he is, he can't fill your boots. we need you more then ever." hershel continues for me.

"well, if you're so worried about him. you lead." rick says simply, i roll my eyes and cross my arms.

"what are you doing out here?"

"i've- i've been- i've got... stuff out here. stuff." he nods.

"how much longer do you need?" i ask.

"i don't know. i don't-" he trails off.

"is there anything i can help you with?" hershel asks. rick just looks at him, hershel let's out a sigh. he turned around, with the help of me.

"i saw something." both me and hershel stopped, turning back around. rick walked up to the fence.

"lori. i saw lor-" i frown as him. "i'm seeing lori." he laced his fingers through the wire fence.

"look i know it's not really her. but there's got to be a reason. it's got to mean something, you know?" hershel nods. i keep quiet, listening to where the conversation was going.

"was it her on the phone?"

"yeah." rick nodded. "shane, too, saw him at woodbury."

"do you see them now?" he shook his head.

"you're looking for them."

"i'm waiting." he says simply. i placed my hand on top of his, also lacing my fingers through the wires.

"for what?"

"i don't know. something. i know it doesn't make sense. well, it does. it can make sense. i mean. i think in time it will make sense."

"rick...?" i speak up. "you need rest. it's not safe out here. please come inside."

"i can't. i can't." he pulled his hand from mine. i watched as he walked away and started to walk over to wooden bridge.
