I didn't know what day it was. Sun shone through my messy dorm room's window so it must have been morning- sometime during summer. It was definitely June since I was still finishing up my university term but I didn't know what day exactly. My dad was right when he suggested I should get a calendar, even a watch would do me fine. Every day was the same: Wake up, clean half the room, have a shower and dress up for class, spend 6 hours being lectured by teachers, go home and sleep. Don't get me wrong- I loved Empire State University, but a break once in a while would be great!
My art folder was leaning against a wall near by the door, where it usually was kept. Art classes were definitely exciting considering all I did in Midtown Science was... well, science. I was supposed to have a roommate but since I didn't know anyone who went here then I kept to myself. I know what you're thinking. What about Peter? Well, since he is a boy then we can't dorm together. Do you know how strict the school board is about being the same gender and sharing dorms? Because I didn't. He shares with Harry Osborne anyways so everything's fine. Speaking of Harry...
My door shook as someone banged on it. "Hey, sleepy head? Are you in there?" I grinned before opening up the door to a messy-haired boy.
"Need to borrow a comb or something?" He tried to pat down parts of his bed hair which failed miserably. "Good thing you're pretty." I turned off the small TV in the corner of the room then began to walk down the hallway to class.
"Do you know who your new roommate is yet?" Harry asked.
I shook my head. "Nope. I just know that she'll be here tomorrow or the next day so I'm going to need help in cleaning up."
"Is that a request?"
"It's a statement." I smiled as he reached his class door, next to mine. "Tonight at 6. Bring Peter too, don't forget." Before he could get a word in, I quickly pushed him into his class and slipped into mine where Mrs Jane stood at the back of the classroom, watching everyone sit down in their places.
"So today is the second to last day of the term. Do you know what that means?" Oh crap, today was Mrs Jane's last day as our art teacher. I shrunk down in my seat a little, Mrs Jane was the only person who I actually spoke to in my class, and she was the only one who inspired me. If it wasn't for her then I would of probably dropped doing art. The whole class- especially me- groaned. "Now, now. You will have another teacher for tomorrow and next term that will also be finishing up your assignments in my place."
"Do you know who she is?" A student called out.
"Yes, we have met before at a fashion show about two years ago but apart from that I don't know much about her." Brilliant, next term was already planned to be a disaster.
~*~*~*~
The principal's office was exactly how I did not imagine it. Almost everything was wooden or dark coloured. Only the sun lit up the room. Why am I in the office, you ask? I don't know.
"Miss Walker, you're probably wondering why I've called you in here." Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. A middle aged man with black hair sat down in front of me. His eyes were a piercing blue, like the sea but more intense. "I assure you, you're not in trouble. This is regarding your new room-mate. It seems that some...events have took place meaning that she will be arriving this evening."
My jaw dropped. Peter and Harry better be cleaning hard. "B-but I don't know anything about her!"
A light brown file was placed on the table in front. "Her name is Isobel Dimer. She's your age and will be taking the same classes as you." When I opened the file, a blonde short haired girl with deep brown eyes photo was in the left hand corner. In a word she was absolutely gorgeous. "We've already sent cleaners to add another bed and clean up your dorm."
"Thank you!" I smiled gratefully before picking up my brown leather bag.
"If you have any problems, just come back." I nodded and left after a hand shake. I never understood why people had to have room-mates; was it so that cleaning wasn't a one man job? Or maybe it was just lack of space for everyone. ESU had 2 buildings and a field- 1 building for school; another was where the students lived. If your parents ever go away for a weekend and it'll just be you all alone, find somewhere to stay! Seriously, if I can barely keep my bedroom tidy then how the hell am I supposed to take care of an entire house? Peter and I weren't exactly neat. Although, that might just be because of his 'job'.
That's right, Peter still hadn't given up his Spider man thing that he does, which I'm glad about! If he wasn't here then who would know what danger the city would be in...even though it's usually in danger anyways. We still hadn't planned our wedding and considering we still had an entire term to complete before we get into our second year at ESU- it wasn't going to be soon.
I swung open the door to find two brown haired boys sitting on my striped bed and the same girl in the file on the other which was a mix of blue and black- not something that others could pull off but for some reason it worked for her. "Hi!" I smiled at her. She returned it but for some reason it looked fake, as if it took every part of her to do it. "I'm-"
"I know who you are." She stood up and walked out of the room before shutting the door.
My body couldn't move. Was this a prank? Had I been set up? Both of the boys stood up, only then did I realise how clean the room was. Instead of its strawberry scent, it was flowery almost. "She must be uncomfortable around you." Peter offered sweetly, taking a step towards me to hold my hand. "Because you're a girl."
"As if she's never met a girl before." I replied lightly. "Thanks for cleaning."
Both boys straightened up, "Actually we didn't clean. Some cleaners just left. Honestly, I thought they were breaking in." Harry nodded at the broken lamp that was in a Walmart bag.
"So you threw a lamp?" He turned pink.
"It wasn't like we could have done anything else." Peter said with a shrug. Harry still didn't know about Peter being Spiderman so we had to be careful with what we talked about. "Do you think she'll come back anytime soon?"
"Who, Isobel? Probably not until I go to sleep. Then she'll plan my murder."
"And I'll swoop in before she can touch you and send her out the window." Peter pulled me in for a quick hug.
"I can bring another lamp if you want." Harry chuckled, now sitting on the couch. I could see how Peter and him were friends.
I lightly threw my bag next to my bed. "You go do that. But I'm going to sleep now." They stood still. "That means I'll have to get dressed." I tried to hint but they still stared at me. Boys will be boys, I laughed. "A.K.A goodnight."
Like it was a magic word, the two boys suddenly jumped into action. Harry headed for the door whilst Peter kissed me on the forehead before turning around to leave. However, I caught him by the hand and softly pulled him back towards me. "Can't you stay a while longer?" He smiled before kissing me.
"Definitely." He whispered.
