quidditch match

a few weeks had past and it was now November at Hogwarts the students we already buzzing about christmas. Y/n how we was currently sat freezing cold in the quidditch stands watching Sirius and James practise. The final match of the term was this Saturday and James was in a right state about the whole thing. Remus was sat to her side with his nose in this newest book, he was so engrossed that y/n couldn't get any conversation out of him as she tried.

James came flying past stopping infront of the pair.

"so what do u think, like it" he said raising an eyebrow

she smirked back "mmh average"

"hey" he smiled

remus just scowled down at his book.

"don't worry Moony" sirius said as he flew past "i will wink at you too"
Remus scoffed and carried on reading as sirius pulled a pout and flew over to the goals.

The practice went on for another 30 mins and y/n so cold by the end of it she couldn't feel her fingers. to be honest she wasn't that interested in Quidditch she really only watched for James. Remus had gone in about 15 mins ago muttering however much he liked sirius this was bullshit and he was gonna die of hyperthermia.

she walked down as they disappeared into the changing rooms and walked the slow walk back to the castle. On her way up to The common room she found Oliver sat on stairs staring into space. this is quite common occurrence since the incident over summer however it's still pained her to see him this way. He used to be such a happy energetic boy in the first few years at school, but now he seems to struggle to smile more than twice a day.

"what's up" she said sitting down next to him.

"mh oh nothing" he said, Jacks got becky up in the dorm and Maddy and Leah are having "girls talks" he replied.

"Oliver you should have said"

"what and come and join you goggle over some boy plying quidditch no thank you"

"WHAt i...... i" she stuttered " i wasn't"

"i'm not stupid y/n your my best friend, i know"

"oh of course it's you that notices" she smiles

he smiled weakly back.

"don't tell Leah please"

"of course i won't.. anyway she doesn't really like i don't think"

"what do you mean?"

"i think it's like a popularity thing" he replied

"What, mate you know this is leah your talking about, girl who resents anyone who's well known let alone popular"

"yeah i why do u know think she does" he smirked up at her " because she won't to be... Y/n for being her best friend your not very perspective"

"hey" she hit his arm " not all of us can read people like you can,, but fuck i never thought of it that way... makes sense now... why she always hated remus and that lot"

"mmh"

" anyway going back to our original point if you had asked I would've been immediately ditched him and we could've done something together" she paused " we still can"

"huh"
and with that she drag him up by the arm and towards herbolgy
(his favourite subject)
I spent the next few hours trying to come up with a special spell to grow one of oliviers favourite plant.

Saturday had to come and James is a complete wreck he didn't eat anything at breakfast he just sat there pushing his food around his plate staring off straight ahead.

" come on mate you Gotta eat something" Sirius said piling toast onto his plate.

"not hunrgy" he muttered

"James" remus signed "come on you guys will smash it"

however James couldn't be convinced even when they were walking out onto the pitch and when they were 50 points above he was still completely convinced they're going to lose. which was odd for him because he never had such a negative outlook but ever since that night after the party when those four words y/n had spoke to him "im happy for you" he couldn't focus on anything else.

however James's worries we're for nothing as Gryffindor won 175 points up. The crowd where going wild, and james doing his little lap of glory could only focus on one girl screaming shouting of joy y/n.

The Celebration carried on, a party had been held in the common room that evening and even mcgongall came to join for an hour. James was being patted and congratulated by everyone and sirius and the other beater matt had been lifted and chucked in the air several times.

Y/n was beaming at them sat with maddy who was blabbering on about, how the match was nearly lost because she was convinced she saw the Hufflepuff skeaker dive for the snitch before James.

Oliver and Leah hadn't come down they both detested Quidditch and had chosen to have a quite evening in the library instead. Jack was over with his girlfriend in the corner giving each otter puppy eyes and muttering sweet things between them.
So after Maddy went to bed, Leah Y/n went over the lily and the other girls. Mary patted her lap for y/n to sit on and when she kindly declined moved over and sat on Sirius so y/n could sit down.

"ignore Mary she a fat flirt with everyone" lily giggled
y/n was still getting used to how friendly and confident they all where. She had come over looking for Remus but found him not there.

so she turned to Sirius " umm where's, rem"

"oh fucked knows" he muttered " you know what he's like does what he want when he wants" he threw took a great swig of firewisky
y/n gave lily a concerned look she just mouthed back "don't ask we don't know"

mary and sirius were chatting and Marlene had come over to join the group and started to talk to y/n about joining the team.
"don't listen" commented peter " she's worst then james"

"who's worst then James" came a deep voice form behind the sofa.

"me, apparently" smirked Marlene as James came and slumped down onto the ground leaning against Sirius chair.

"Oi, piss face" he directed at Sirius "where's your lover"

" don't know, don't care" Sirius replied and shoved mary off the get another drink

"lovers quarrel" James smirked and just received and kick in the shin.
