It had been three days since Taehyung had left, and Sri missed him like crazy. Taesoo was also struggling to sleep without her father's gentle forehead kisses, often tossing and turning in bed, whispering his name in her dreams.
"And what is my daughter doing without me?" Taehyung asked with a playful grin on the video chat. Taesoo giggled, her eyes sparkling with joy.

"I'm fine, Daddy. But I miss you!" The sight of her father lit up her face, revealing her excitement. It was clear she was more attached to him, always finding a reason to cling to Taehyung. He was her game partner, food buddy, crime accomplice, and the one who 'teasing-mommy' partner.
"Are you being a good child as promised? Hope you're not troubling your mother," Taehyung continued, his voice warm and teasing.
"I'm the best daughter!" she declared proudly, thumping her chest like a little patriot.
"Indeed, she has been the sweetest daughter," Sri chimed in after serving dinner. Her mood automatically lifted at the sight of Taehyung on the other side of the screen. Though he held the camera at a weird angle that only showed his hair and eyes, just hearing his unique voice washed away her worries.
"How are you?" Taehyung's question was directed at Sri, who felt a flutter in her chest. By then, Taesoo had sprinted back to her room, her excitement from the call still buzzing in the air.
"I'm fine. Just come back soon," she replied, trying to keep her tone light, but Taehyung sensed the underlying worry in her voice.
"Just a few more weeks, dear. I'll be back before you realize it," he reassured her, his eyes filled with warmth and concern. Sri hummed in response, attempting to mask her anxiety. She wasn't usually a clingy wife, but the unsettling garage incident lingered in her mind, casting a shadow over her thoughts. She longed for Taehyung's comforting embrace; he was her strongest support. Without him, she felt vulnerable and alone. They both knew that Sri possessed the power to wipe out entire cities, yet her motherly nature made her doubt herself. What if she failed to protect Taesoo?
