I wonder if people are even reading.. except some (uk whom i am meaning by 'some'💜) or maybe the book isn't good enough..
Nvrmind... pardon my dramatic ass and lets get it!
Sri was about to tell Taehyung about the sudden attack when the glass window shattered, startling her. She turned toward the source of the noise and saw a crow flying away, probably the mischievous bird responsible for the chaos. As she was about to curse the creature, she heard Taehyung's static voice crackling through the phone. "Goddamn, Sri! Answer me! Are you okay??"
"I'm fine," she replied, extending the word to assure him. "The window just broke. It was probably the crow that was pecking at it. Taesoo is in her school. I'll call you back after I clean this up." She tried to ease him.
As soon as she ended the call, her eyes fell on an arrow that had struck the floor. The realization hit her hard: the window hadn't been broken by a bird but by the arrow itself. Heart racing, she rushed to the window, careful to avoid the shards of glass, and peered over the broken frame.
Her dark eyes scanned the chaotic scene below, searching for the archer. It was hard to spot any one figure in the concrete forest before her. People hustled through their daily routines, oblivious to the danger overhead. The wind whipped her raven locks around her face, and she could feel beads of sweat forming on her forehead. The sounds of honking vehicles and a bustling crowd filled the air, but no one in her immediate vicinity appeared suspicious. She was eight stories above the ground; there was no way someone could aim at her from below. Whoever had shot the arrow had likely escaped by now.
Failing to spot her attacker, Sri returned to examine the arrow. Crimson liquid stained the pointed edges, and she knelt down to touch it, a shiver coursing through her as her skin met the warm fluid. It smelled like blood. Unsure if it belonged to a human or an animal, she noticed a small chit attached to the shaft. Sending letters via arrows was never a good sign in her mafia world.
Her heart raced as she unfolded the paper. The words were scrawled in a hurried, yet precise hand:
"Mary had a little lamb, whose fleece was white as snow And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to dark one day which was against the rules.
It made the monsters laugh and play, to see a lamb like a fool.
Why does the lamb love Mary so?" the eager monster cry.
Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know." the Satan did reply.
