She was either wildly naïve or
Dangerously intelligent.

"I appreciate your work, Dr. Namjoon," Sri smirked as she cut the call. She sat in her car, waiting for Jongki's next move. As predicted, she watched a black Porsche 911 roar to life and zoom out of the mansion premises.

"Is it him?" she asked Jimin through the earpiece.

"Yes."

"Great. Let's end his chapter tonight." She started the engine and followed him.

Jongki didn't realize he was being followed until he caught sight of S driving parallel to him on his left. The cars were moving at an incredibly high speed, and for a moment, his heart leaped into his throat as he almost lost control of the wheel.

He couldn't risk engaging in a one-on-one fight with her right now, considering his condition. That night, three years ago, S had crippled him for life without her knowledge, and the memory of that pain still lingered.

S tilted her head to the right, her gaze locking with his. It was darker than the depths of the ocean, colder than the abyss. A bone-chilling stare, challenging him to a battle of death. She pressed harder on the accelerator, speeding forward before drifting expertly.

Jongki came to an abrupt halt, his car drifting in tandem. The tires screeched as his car spun 180 degrees, retracing his path. The cat-and-mouse game continued for several minutes before he was blocked by a group of men dressed in black. The moon was hidden behind clouds, making it difficult to identify them, but the flash of their weapons under the headlights was clear.

He couldn't drive past such a vast group. His options were limited—if he drove forward, these unknown men would kill him, and if he reversed, S would run him over. The look she had given him earlier sealed his fate. He chose the gang over facing her alone.

He staggered toward the men, nearly falling to his knees in exhaustion. His legs felt like jelly, but he pushed forward, desperation in his voice. "Help me! She's coming!" he shrieked, not caring if they were Titans. "I don't want to die!"

The group of men didn't intend to kill him, however. They were just as surprised to see their boss crawling at their feet. One of them proudly assured him, "Don't worry, boss! We'll save you!"

The word "boss" immediately caught Jongki's attention. These weren't the Titans, nor the Russians. As the clouds parted and the moonlight bathed the scene, he saw the men in front of him more clearly. They were his own—his most loyal and powerful group, the one he had created to protect him from S.

In his panic to survive, he had forgotten his plan to isolate S and take her down in the middle of nowhere. But now, with the clarity returning to his mind, everything rushed back.

Suddenly, a soft thump echoed through the air. All eyes turned toward the sound, and Jongki quickly turned around, his legs still weak from the rush of adrenaline.

On the hood of his jet-black Porsche sat a woman. She had one leg crossed over the other, leaning back on her hands, as if she were the villain in a fantasy novel. But the reality was much more terrifying. She wore raven-colored attire, paired with matching Chelsea boots. The breeze had tousled her hair, and her skin gleamed in the silver moonlight. Her face was partially hidden by the shadows of the surrounding trees, but her presence was unmistakably ominous.
