A Night to Remember

It's been three weeks since Kenjaku Labs fired Yūji Itadori. It wasn't long after Megumi snuck in. He bets that the other guard reported something. The Labs are strict on their privacy insurance. Yūji didn't care, he had all the information he'd need.

Yūji walks to Kanashii's place, in a black blazer and pants, orange button up, and lastly a grey tie. He looks nice, he reckons. He straightens then knocks on Kanashii's door. A familiar face answers it.

"Hanami-sama?" Yūji asks and Hanami laughs. So does Sachiko. He smiles at her. "My dad is driving us, if that's okay?" She asks and Yūji nods. She smiles. He hands her a small little flower hairpin and she accepts it gracefully. She interlinks their hands and walks to the car with Yūji. They both sit in the back and wait for Hanami to be ready.

As Hanami walked in, Yūji felt like he was in danger. The Spider-sense... was going off at Hanami Kanashii. "So, Yūji. How have you been?" He asks casually and Yūji smiles. He doesn't give away anything. "Well, thank you. How about you, Sir?" He would always speak in this polite tone to Hanami or Mahito when he worked at the Labs.

"I'm good, thank you Yūji," Hanami replies, lighthearted. The conversation is a game of cat and mouse. Who can catch the other first? It made Yūji uneasy. "That's good, Sir," he responds, calmly and Sachiko watches him with careful eyes. She doesn't know anything. Yūji needs to help protect her.

They pull up at the school's front gates and Sachiko leaves the car. "Can I talk to Yūji for a sec, honey? It's about work," Hanami says, kindly, and Sachiko agrees to meet him soon.

"Hello, Spider-Man," Hanami says, his tone gone from sweet to deadly. "I'm not going to hurt you if you stand-by. If you play superhero tonight, I know that your Daddy would probably appreciate a slit throat," Hanami is calm as he threatens Yūji. "I won't tell Kenjaku. Just act natural and have a great time."

Yūji dances with Sachiko for a bit and she clings to him. She leaves him, at last, when Nobara asks to dance with her. Maki had to make a phone call. Yūji approached Megumi. "Hey," they said as they pulled away from some girl. Girl? Wait, that's unimportant.

"Something is happening with Kenjaku," Yūji says as he dances with Megumi. They are elegant whereas Yūji keeps standing on his feet. Megumi laughs casually. "Here," Megumi places a hand on Yūji's waist and guides him into a slow and steady dance. Megumi places his other hand in Yūji's and his heart skips a beat. He doesn't regret asking Sachiko out, but would Megumi have made a better date? He likes them both, equally. Focus, Yūji! Remember Kenjaku?

"So... Kenjaku?" Megumi asks, once they find their rhythm, and Yūji nods. "I was threatened by Kanashii's dad. He's planning something," Yūji says and Megumi nods. "If anything happens, help people out and call Gojo."

"What about you?"

"I'll be fine," Yūji smiles and Megumi's face softens. Their hand tightens on Yūji's waist and he laughs. Yūji leans in close to Megumi. He's liked people who are masculine before but never the same way as he does like Megumi. He leans in close. He's never wanted to kiss another person of the same sex, yet-

"If you die, I'll kill you myself." Megumi threatens, cutting Yūji off from his thoughts. Yūji laughs quietly and nods.

"I guess I can't die then."

They release Yūji and Sachiko takes him back. He sees the two kissing and laughing. Yūji was so close to Megumi, they were scared that he could feel their racing heart. They'd been close with another boy before... and that never ended well.

But Yūji is different. He's kind and gentle. He looked like he wanted to kiss Megumi too. Either that, or it's their wishful thinking.

Sachiko leans in for another kiss and Yūji accepts it, with a wide smile. If Yūji hadn't said anything to them, they would've gone now. Instead of suffering in a-

"Wanna dance?" They look up and Junpei smiles. "You're not my type but you look depressed," he laughs and they smile. Surprisingly, the two got along well despite rumours. They'd talk about common ground interests in technologies.

Megumi takes his hand and they dance together. He looks over at Yūji sometimes and Junpei frowns. "You are so obvious," he mentions and Megumi nods. He looks down at him and nods. "Yūji's cute and all but no one knows his type in men except Nobara," Junpei admits, then smirks. "He likes tall, strong men, with dark hair and kindness," Junpei continues and Megumi continues dancing.

"Kindness? I don't have a chance," they say, coldly, and Junpei laughs. Throughout their first and second years of High School they'd beat up bullies until new ones came along and started insulting them based on their sexuality. They stopped beating their comrades up and left them be. Kindness is not an attribute Megumi holds.

Junpei still laughs, though. "You're kind to him. He thinks so highly of you," he informs and Megumi sighs.

"Don't give me false hope."

Yūji glances nervously at the door. His Spider-sense is getting stronger and he looks at Nobara. She gives him wide eyes. He nods.

She takes Kanashii away and he storms through the crowd. Where's Megumi? I need to find them. Everything gets stronger and the sense is like a weight on his back. He sees them and Junpei laughing softly and weight hits his chest. He storms out of the ball and finds a man with a huge gun. He looks tall with long greasy black hair and grey eyes. His skin is pale.

"Uh... are you a teacher?" He asks, naive. I'm not Spider-Man, I'm Itadori Yūji. The man laughs. "Do I look like one?" He suggests, raising a brow. Yūji scratches his neck. "Yeah! Maybe an art teacher!" He tries to get a glimpse at the gun he's holding but he holds it up and strikes. He loses control of his body and freezes. "Have a great night, Kid," he says and walks into the ball with the gun.

Yūji faints.

It's mayhem when everyone sees a man with a gun and starts to run. He shoots at people and they freeze up then faint. Megumi runs to where the Ball's entrance is and they see Yūji on the floor, unconscious. They curse, quietly and run to the nearest bathrooms.

"Itadori!" They shout and shake him. They grab a small syringe with some of the venom from the Spiders that they stole from that night with Yūji. He's already been pre-exposed to the venom so it shouldn't be deadly. They've tested this before... online.

They go to stab Yūji's arm and he wakes with a gasp.

Yūji wakes in the bathroom with Megumi sitting on his lap. They climb off, embarrassed, and Yūji hides his face. "Kenjaku's attacking people," Megumi warns and Yūji grabs the patch. He presses it to his chest and Megumi smiles sadly at him.

"I've already called the cops and Satoru. They should be here soon."

Yūji runs towards the ball, in his new suit which can do many things. He's glad it's bulletproof. Hanami tries shooting at him and he fights with the elder, using him as a human shield. The man, Yūji believes is Kenjaku, shoots away at him and the assistant. Hanami faints and Yūji gets him to a safe place.

Yūji goes back to Kenjaku and he has a different gun this time. "It electrocutes people, so watch out," Megumi's voice plays in the suit and Yūji jumps. He watches out for the bolts of lightning and thanks Megumi. He shoots at the walls of the building, causing the weak structure to collapse.

Kenjaku laughs at Yūji and goes to terrorize everyone else. Yūji flings him back into the building and it collapses.

Yūji thanks Satoru for everything as he knows this is the end of his life.
