It was almost nightfall, and it's been 8 hours, that's how long we were in that cramped viacal. When we came to a stop, the Nazis that had "helped us escape" grabbed me and threw me out. I was stunned by the way they only did that to me and no one else. My leg was in excruciating pain as I hit the ground, my stomach cramped up and I felt like I was going to die. Jerry helped me get back on my feet and keep my ground.
I went to go help Claire, but Matthew beat me to it. The look that she gave him infuriated me. She's mine. I thought to myself, but I just kept telling myself that he saved my life and that I shouldn't get too jealous. The Nazis slaughtered the wounded and then drove away leaving us for stranded with no food and little water.
Every time when I would look where Matthew and Claire were sitting, the smile and laugh that Claire would give Matthew made my stomach turn with jealousy.
"What are you thinking about?" Asked Jerry, nudging me in the shoulder and handing me a beer. "Nothing." I responded, taking the beer, but not taking my eyes off Claire and Matthew. "Well, it certainly looks like you are thinking about something."
"Fine, I'm thinking where the hell are we, Jerry? We're out in the middle of nowhere, don't you get it? We have nothing, but beers and little water, I should've killed those fuckers when I had the chance!
"It's fine, Tom, all we need is each other, we're safe."
"Are you hearing yourself right now? We're not safe anymore, Jerry. Our world and lives are ending as we know it. Sooner or later we're all going to die." He gives me a look of frustration, gets up and leaves me alone with nothing but a beer and the sound of crackling fire.
The sun was setting and there was no noise, but the sounds of birds singing, when multiple F-35s flew overhead raining bombs. There was nowhere to go! Rose looks up and says, "What the fu--" but was cut off when the bomb hit the ground. The earth shook as a huge mushroom cloud covered the sky.
"Rose?" Said Matthew in a frightened voice.
"Yes?"
"There's something I need to tell you before we die."
"We're not gonna die!"
"Just in case If I die then I just want you to know that, I-I love you, Rose." I looked over at her and her facial expression seemed to have said, what the hell? Jerry also heard it and said, "Bro, what the hell?!" He pushes Matthew to the ground and his head comes down hard on top of a rock. Blood spills from his head and his body goes unconscious. Jerry's expression goes from anger to shock and frightened that he might have killed a man. He turns and runs away, bombs were still raining from the sky, but that didn't seem to bother him.
"Wait!" I yelled. "Jerry, come back!" He didn't listen, he kept running, totally oblivious to his surroundings. Dozens of those F-35s flew over Jerry's head, and dropped at least 20 bombs, most of them landed some place else but there was one that was going to land right on top of Jerry! "Jerry, move out of the way!" I tried yelling as loud as I could, but it was no use, he couldn't hear me.
I ran towards him without thinking, hoping that I could save him intime, but I couldn't. I wasn't fast enough. The bomb hit the ground with a loud Boom! There was a loud scream of pain then it went quiet. There were no planes flying, no birds singing and no gunfire, just complete and utter silence. "NO!" I yelled once more falling to my knees crying. Claire and Rose caught up to me, Claire kneels down beside me and hugs me. I stop crying and wipe the tears from my eyes, I pick myself and Claire up to our feet and say, "We can't stay here much longer, they're going to come back and it's just going to get worse." After some time we checked Matthew's pulse and found out that he was dead.
