LONDON, ENGLAND

The next morning, Susie could have sworn that her encounter with Morpheus, the Sandman himself, had all just been her imagination.

A dream within a dream, clearly stated by Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception - she loved the classics.

Her beloved violin was back in its case, as it always did and had not been removed - until the memory hit Susie like a truck.

Yesterday, back in the Dreaming, Morpheus had taken it from her to...do what exactly?

What purpose could an instrument like this possibly bring to a being like him, a Dream Lord from another dimension?

If he really had said the truth about him being the one and only Sandman, then what did he want with a violin?

Did he want to play the kids a lullaby before putting them to sleep, as for her having thought he would be more into rock music?

What was the real reason behind all of this?

Susies head started to spin around, those oncoming thoughts wouldn't leave her alone.

Finally, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes yet again, trying to fall into a deep slumber.

There was just one way to find out - she had to go back to him and find some answers.

And she needed them immediately.

THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS

Morpheus sat in the castles' library, curiously looking for any record mentioning Susie Lynn.

He already had spent three hours with searching and maybe, he could have done more - if Lucienne hadn't interrupted him several minutes ago, saying he needed an urgent break.

Of course he hadn't listened to her, but now he felt rather tired and drained.

There was something about that girl Morpheus couldn't quite explain.

A long kept secret he had yet to find out, just like he had done with Rose Walker.

But with Susie, it was different.

Utterly different...

Heading back to the throne room, Morpheus wasn't quite surprised of seeing Susie again, along with his raven Matthew.

Both of them seemed to be in deep conversation about him in which the Dream Lord didn't want to interfere, so he just listened a while.

"So, are you a creation of him too?", Susie asked, her eyes glowing with excitement.

"What do you symbolise, then? Are you a personification of The Birds? Don't get me wrong, it was a great movie - "

Matthew let out a chirp of anger, shaking his head:

"I am not a creation of him, you idiot. I once was a human, just like you, with feet and arms and a brain to think. To dream. Unfortunately, I died and got reborn as a raven. As such, I must serve my boss and look after him when he needs me. Sounds kinda boring, but I've got used to it quite well. And sometimes, I look after you humans. Does that answer your question?"

"Yeah, I think so!", Susie replied, stroking the birds' black feathers.

"I just can't believe I'm talking to a raven...my friends would totally freak out. Anyway, I wanted to speak to your boss, but he doesn't seem available at the moment - "

Morpheus cleared his throat, then stepping into the open with a wide grin:

"There's no need to delay our meeting, Susie. So, what's the matter?"

Susie blushed in embarrassment, taking her violin out of the case.

"I was wondering if you need my instrument for something...yesterday, you seemed quite curious about it, so - here I am!"

"And what makes you think I need it?", the Dream Lord chuckled, his gaze lighting up at every word.

"C'mon, let's take some fresh air!"
