WHYCH CROSS, ENGLAND - 1916

"That's all I can remember!", Morpheus said, finishing the memories of his long lost sister.

"After I got captured, I thought I'd never see you again. They tortured me in any way imaginable, killing my Jessamy and robbing me of my tools - my violin. Robbing me of my power, my purpose. Even now, I want them all to feel what I felt, the sadness, the hatred, the anger. The need of revenge. Cause it is not over, my sister. My violin is still out there and we together must find it, keep it from causing destruction. If we not manage that, all of humanity will slowly tear itself to pieces, just as it has been not long ago. So, what do you say? Are you with me?"

Susie - Passion of the Endless - nodded, grabbing her older brothers' hand:

"We'll find your violin and if it's the last thing we do...I am so glad you recognise me after all those years. But tell me, Dream - what about my human life? My mum, my friends...has it all been an illusion?"

"That is yet to discover!", Morpheus replied, addressing the Corinthian.

"Listen, Corinthian. Leave this Dream of my sister and never return again...it's for the best. I now know what caused this swirling storm of hatred towards me and I will make them beg for mercy for what they've done. But for now, you must go!"

Morpheus reached into his pocket, pulling out the red ruby in which he trapped the rogue Nightmare until he had sorted it out with his siblings.

"You think you're right, but you're terribly wrong!", the Corinthian hissed out of his glowing prison, desperately trying to escape.

"By the time you take revenge on your siblings, I'm already dead. You uncreated me, remember? Just because I wanted to have a little fun - so, don't try to fix it!"

The King of Dreams chuckled:

"You forget one thing, Corinthian. I cannot only travel through Dreams, but I can also bend and reverse time at my own will. Which means you're not dead yet and I can start to recreate you - a perfect Nightmare, not having been inspired to kill and feast on humanity. That's all I ever wanted for you and now, you'll obey your master. Obey me and I won't harm you ever again. So, do we have a deal?"

Inside the ruby, the Nightmare snorted.

"If that's what you wish, Dream. But don't say I didn't warn you if it turns out way different than you imagined...until then!"

With these final words, the ruby emitted a pulsing light, sealing the Corinthian in his cage - only Morpheus knew how long he would keep him in there.

He turned to his sister, smiling:

"Let's go home. We have a lot to talk about!"
