THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS _
AN ETERNITY AGO
"My Lord, your sister is waiting to see you!", Lucienne called out, carrying a bunch of newly arrived books.
"Those just came in, you might love to read them...this one is about a boy who never grows up, taking a few kids on adventures. And this one has even better reviews, about a wooden doll coming alive - "
Morpheus turned his back on the Dream he had been working on all this morning, his exhausted gaze lighting up with joy.
"I'll read them soon, Lucienne!", he smiled, his librarian nodded:
"Wonderful, Sir. I'll bring her in, if you please..."
"Of course!", Morpheus replied, chuckling.
"Isn't it amazing? How Dreams can affect the people, making them want to create something like these books. That's why I love my job, Lucienne...and I hope you love yours too!"
"I've never denied it, Sir!", Lucienne whispered, then walking away to greet Morpheus' sister.
THE KINGDOM OF DESIRE
The Queen of Desire stood in her castle, angrily speaking to one of her siblings.
It hadn't been hard for her to choose, as for Destruction was always busy.
The same for Destiny, not even mentioning Delirium.
And Death, she was special in her own way.
So, she had settled on Despair who she got along quite fine with, always clinging onto her like a little child.
In the past, both of them had held quite a grudge against Dream who felt rather superior when it came to his kingdom.
In fact, he was the one with a much more higher power than them, possessing a large collection of Dreams and Nightmares which he guarded very closely.
Truth be told, not even one had ever slipped away under his eyes - but what if one would?
What if one of his creations would escape from the Dreaming, one who would soon grow tired of being watched?
Who would develop the mere Desire to escape, the Despair to be anything else than a creation?
More than just existing under the King of Dreams, a puppet of his thoughts?
