It was already Monday and I was not in the mood to go to school. I do admit that I was still thinking about Rich.  I was thinking if he has been fed, if he has a place to stay, if he has clean water to drink. I do love him that much. He’s like a family to me, but I do have a life of my own. I need to continue living without him. I need to go to school and study for a better future. Some of you might think I’m crazy; crazy because I was mourning for a lost dog. I just can’t help it; he is so special to me. He’s like a family to me, if not; more than a family. Despite of everything that had happened to me this weekend, I had still managed to go to school. I was in class but my eyes were staring blankly in the mid-air. “Hey! What’s wrong Bro? I had never seen you like this before.” Marcus said to me while looking directly into my eyes. Ronald Marcus P. Holmes, a.k.a Marcus is one of my best friends since grade three. I simply shook my head in response to him and put my face onto my palm. Marcus patted my back and said “I know you Aubrey. Even though you’re not telling me that you have a problem, I know you have one.”  I lifted my head up and said, “Rich is missing.” “Well that’s quite a problem.” that’s all that he said and laughed. I hit his arm and said “You don’t really know how important Rich is to me. Do you?” “Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you.” and then he walked away. I really felt sorry for being so rude to him, but I can’t help it. I was really in the bad mood. Sir James entered our classroom and greeted us good morning. He grouped us into five and assigned our sitting arrangement for his class. I really got annoyed at him when he seated me at the second row, near the aisle. When he saw me frown, he smiled at me which made my anger disappear. Doesn’t he do anything besides teaching, talking, and smiling? I really can’t stay mad at him for too long.

I was busy doing nothing that weekend. I played Xbox; I got bored. I tried to learn how to play guitar; nothing happened. I watched TV; I didn’t like the show. I took my laptop and opened my FB account. I saw fourteen new notifications and opened it. “….James Slater McCartney accepted your friend request. Write on James Slater’s timeline….” showed by the notification list. “June 27, 2010, he accepted my friend request. Dream come true! This is the start. Let the STALKING begin!” I said to myself.

A week had already passed and there was still no sign of Rich. I was already forcing myself to believe that he’s never coming back. Sir James had given us again a story to read. This time, it is all about a person who’s always there to help others but cannot help his own self. I finished reading the story. I wondered if a scenario in the story will happen to life similar to the incident last week where Rich got lost like in the story. “I’m just being paranoid.” I said to myself. What happened to Hachiko and Rich was just a coincidence. Wasn’t it?

It’s Monday again. I sat on my chair in class as I waited for the classes to start. I was thinking about the “coincidence” between Rich and the story when Alex came to me. Alexis D. Landon is his full name, we just call him Alex. He is also my best friend since grade three. Alex and Marcus are my only friends since grade three. They are the only people I’m comfortable with back then. Alex put his face over his palm and said “Samantha and I had a fight. I caught her cheating on me.” Oh God! Scenarios in stories I read really come to life. I really need to know the meaning of the lines I read from that book. “Have you two talked about it?” I finally said after staring at him for a long time. “Yeah, we wouldn’t have that fight if we didn’t talk about it. Don’t you think?” he said to me seriously. “Oh I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking. Did she explain herself to you?” I asked him. “Well, uhm… yes, she did, but I caught them. She said they were just friends.” he answered. I glared at him and said “For girls, friends will always be our friends even though we already have our own relationships. If our boyfriends broke up with us, we can run to our friends and seek help. Friends are forever, boyfriends are not. Give her a second chance. Try to believe her. Trust her. Don’t be too possessive! You’re just a PART of her life; NOT her WHOLE life. MORON!” I said to him. He laughed at me and said “I may be a moron, but I am like this because I love her.” “I guess you’re right. Maybe I’m just being too possessive.” he continued. “Of course I am right! I am also a girl remember? Go get your girl before it’s too late.” I said to him with a teasing smile. “Okay. Thanks Aubrey! You really are the best.” he said to me and left. My mind was back again to my problem. Ms. Austin caught me “daydreaming” so she asked me a question. I was able to answer her. Thank God I did an advance reading last night. “Next time, don’t daydream in my class.” she said to me. I faked a smile in response. Do I really look like I’m daydreaming? Duh! I was thinking; just not about her subject. The bell rang. Ms. Austin was about to leave when I moved towards her. “Good morning ma’am! Are you familiar with the language or perhaps the sentence itself?” I asked her as I handed her the paper where I wrote the lines that I read from the book. “Fi angen popeth sy’n digwydd yn y llyfr I ddarllen digwydd yn fy mywyd go iawn.” she read out loud. “I have never encountered anything like it before. I’ll try to search for its meaning or translation. See me after your classes had ended. Also, try to search the books in the library, maybe there’s a book that has its meaning.” she said to me. “Okay! Thank you.” I responded and smiled.
