I couldn't help but feel bothered. Steve was staring at Nancy the entire time that we were rowing out to the spot where Patrick floated.
I seriously thought we were having a moment. I guess I was wrong.
His thing for Nancy is honestly reasonable. They dated for a minute. I remember how shocked everyone was that they broke up.
I tried not to stare at the two. They really would make a good couple. However, Nancy was taken at the moment I believe.
Trying not to huff and puff like a child about to throw a tantrum, I took a deep breath and tried to think of good things. Like how we're all as a team going to see if there's an opening to...basically a demon dimension.
Yeah...positive.
"I believe it was around here." I say while stopping the boat and putting the ores inside the boat.
The group looked at me for a next step but I shrugged. I didn't know. This is as far as I thought we were going to go. I know nothing about this opening dimension thing.
I sighed and started to play with my rings. I felt useless. The group wanted me to have a plan and I had nothing. Typical me.
I started to hear ruffling on the other end of the boat so I looked up quickly to see what was going on.
Oh. My. God.
"What are you doing?!" Robin exclaimed covering her eyes.
Steve was getting undressed. I felt my heart race. I tried playing it cool but Jesus... it was hard to.
"I'm going to go down there." He said while pointing to the water below.
"Wait! Wait." I say before wrapping a flashlight with grocery bags. "Okay... you're good...just be safe."
Steve dove in quickly. While a part of me was worried for him, I knew he's done this type of thing before. Enough that this was a usual thing for him.
"You think he's gonna be alright?" Robin asked Nancy nervously playing with the rings on her fingers. I guess we had that habit in common.
"I think so. He's tough." Nancy said while messing with her clothes.
She was nervous as well. None of us knew what we were doing with this new enemy on the horizon. I never experienced anything like it, and from their nerves, neither did they.
Suddenly there was a splash and a gasp for air.
Steve.
We all hurried to look over the edge of the boat to see him swimming with his head above water.
"Guys I found a-"
As soon as he came up, he came back down. Something was dragging him down.
The group gasped. We were all frozen in shock. Me and Robin looked at each other deciding who to go save him.
Nancy quickly jumped in. She didn't even hesitate. She really cares about Steve I guess.
Why did I hesitate? Do I not care about Steve? Shouldn't I jump in right away?
Robin soon followed Nancy doing a back dive into the water from the side of the boat.
Jesus Christ... am I really going to do this? And if I am, why am I the last one to go? Am I that much of a coward?
Fuck it... what's the worst that could happen? My life's already over anyways.
I hurried and jumped in as well.
The water was cold as I swam down. With water rushing onto my eyes, it was hard to see but I was giving it my best while following the silhouettes of the two girls ahead of me.
Suddenly, they disappeared.
I continued swimming in that direction until I saw something weird. It was like a hole.
They must've gone through here. I guess I'll go too...
As I swam through the hole I found myself seeing the other two standing. I pushed myself up and took a breath.
This dimensional stuff doesn't make any sense but I'm just going to go with it.
As the three of us looked at each other in basically the equivalent of the shadow realm, we heard gagging.
Steve.
We ran to where the source of the gagging was to see Steve being choked by a demented creature with wings and a long tail. Two others were eating at his sides.
Nancy ran to Steve chucking an ore towards me and hitting one of the bats away from Steve's side.
She didn't hesitate. Why am I...doing nothing? I...god damn it move.
Robin and Nancy were fighting the bats around Steve while I just stood there. I was too scared to move. "Kill it! Kill it!" I yell
I hear a screeching growl come from up above. I lift my ore. I'm ready. The creature came down and I smacked it as far as I could.
Suddenly, there was the same bat coming towards Nancy "NANCY BEHIND YOU WATCH OUT!" I yell.
It was too late. It was on her back attacking her.
"Oh my god Nancy!" Robin shouted trying to get it off of her.
One of the bats from Steve's side came around towards me "GOD DAMN IT"
I struck the bat as hard as I could.
Hopefully that'll-
IT CAME BACK?
"Jesus CHRIST."
I hit it again and it flew but so did a part of my Ore.
Okay this'll...
SON OF A BITCH.
How is it still coming back?!
No. I've had enough. I jab the broken end of the ore into the beast's mouth and shove it to the ground. "STAY DEAD."
I look over to see Steve beating the shit out of the bat with his bare hands. Even though the bat tried to fly away, Steve was stronger.
He hit the bat over and over again onto the floor. Eventually he put his foot on top of the beast and ripped it in half. Some of the bat's blood came out of his mouth.
Did he bite it...?
God he's so hot...
Woah...
Stay focused Munson. The goal. Steve isn't exactly in the best shape.
"Jesus H Christ...." I say before slouching onto the ground.
"You could say that again." Robin sighed before walking over to Steve.
"You're pretty beat up. We should try to tend to those wounds."
Nancy gasped and ran over to him. "Are you okay?"
I couldn't help but feel bothered. She has a boyfriend. Why does it feel so... flirty? I dunno... maybe he would be better with her. She never hesitates to save him.
Nancy grabbed him and started to walk with him. Damn it Nancy...nothing against you I just...
I really thought we had something going... I guess not.
(A/N: I couldn't sleep so here's another chapter! It's unusual I know... hopefully y'all don't always expect this because it's a blue moon thing)
