-Steve's perspective-

As me and Eddie jumped out of the car with our lanterns and notebooks, Nancy quickly took the wheel.

"With us, Lucas." Max stuck her head out of the door before grabbing Lucas's arm and yanking him inside before the RV took off.

God...who knew they were in a rush to leave us behind.

"Okay nerds...what's the plan?" Erica sighed before looking at us with a judgmental look. In her defense, I'm pretty sure that's her natural face at this point.

"Be the lookout." I said while grabbing the flashlight out of Eddie's back pocket. "Anything happens...you flash it. I flash my light? You do it too. It goes both ways."

Erica shrugged "easy enough. Where do you want me?"

"Across the street" Eddie stated before pointing towards the rocket. "They're going to be looking for your light in there."

"In the rocket?" Erica raised an eyebrow towards me and Eddie before we nodded. "Alright. I'll head over but...anything weird happens and I'm out."

"Fair enough." I replied before grabbing Eddie's forearm. "Let's go, Eds."

Eddie followed me quickly to be at the same pace as me while I held onto his arm. It was kinda funny to see him booking it behind me to stay at the same speed.

The place looked somehow even worse than when we last went to the house. The door was already open as we walked to the front porch.

Did we leave the door open? Were we that reckless with our actions? Someone could have easily known that we were here with the door wide open like this.

I walked in to hear the floor boards screaming at me to get off with every step. It hasn't been maintained since the 50's if I had to take a guess. I closed the door behind me to not draw any suspicion.

I slowly turned on the blue light and started to make my way towards the old living room.

I didn't remember the room being so dark. Yes, we went during morning but it was almost pitch black without the blue light.

I found myself hitting into the couch quickly after noticing the window that shows the rocket from across the street.

I quickly dusted off both couches before gesturing for Eddie to take a seat across from where I planned to sit.

Eddie slowly sat down and awkwardly smiled at me.

I slowly sat down as well and just kinda stared at him for what felt like forever.

Didn't expect this to be so awkward...would've came up with some conversation topics or something...

Eddie quickly lifted up his notebook and tapped it with a smile. I had completely forgot about those.

I nodded before he looked down to start writing on the small lined notebook. "Hey :)"

I held back a laugh before I looked down to write as well "hi :)"

Eddie quickly started to write down something onto his paper. "Wanna go to the park across the street after this?"

"What? Like old times?" I quickly scribbled out onto my notepad before lifting it up.

"Exactly like old times :)" Eddie wrote before actually smiling at me.

"Sure :)" I smiled back.
