Chapter 16 || new part !

You were sitting at the sandlot with Benny, your head in your hands as you're sat in the dugout. "Benny.... i don't know what to do anymore, everything has just gone to shit...," you say most likely on the verge of tears.

"Hey it's okay- we can help you, the whole group-."

"No! i don't want the whole group to know ! i- i just think it's better that way... it's already enough that their parents know," you say cutting Benny off. He scoots closer to you and puts his arm around you. You relax slightly. as much as you want to push benny away, you just can't, your feelings are just completely coming over you and you don't know what to do.
"Benny i'm tired of this, i'm so done with everything. i'm going back home."

"okay just- please let me walk you back home... it's the only way i'll be able to know that you are okay.." he asks you in a soft gentle tone. You just nod. He takes your hand and you guys start walking to your house. 

Once you guys get to your house he gives you a hug and a kiss on the head before letting you go inside. you just try giving him a soft smile before closing your house door. you go up to your room and lock yourself in there.

For about a couple of days you distance yourself from Benny and the boys, they are clearly worried about you, benny being the only one that knows what's going on. He stops by your window every day when he's walking home from the sandlot and leaves a little letter that he writes, explaining how much he cares for you and wishes you would just talk to him. But all you do is put the notes into a little show box to save them. You never expected to be this distant from your best friends, or even benny, it was heartbreaking, even for your family, they've never seen you like this.

That weekend your aunt comes over to stay and watch the house while your brother and anna leave out of town for a while to go file the papers for custody of you.

Benny stops by your window again one evening, he puts the note and knocks on your window before walking away like usual, but this time you opened your window immediately. "Benny wait !" you call out for him. he turns around and goes to your window. You quickly hug him and almost start crying. "Gosh... i miss you guys... i miss being at the sandlot and playing with all of you guys. but it's... it's been hard. and i'm sorry for not talking to you. i know i should be but-"

"Y/n !! please... just stop. don't be sorry. i know you are going through stuff just... please don't shut me out anymore. you know i'm here for you. always," he says. his tone was sincere and true, you knew he meant every word. you just nod with a soft relaxed smile.

"can you stay here with me for a while ? i.... i just need someone..," you ask him, sounding a little guilty only because it's the first thing you ask after ignoring him for so long. he nods and climbs in your window. you guys lay down and cuddle up together. You end up falling asleep and taking a nap, Benny eventually submitting to sleep soon after you.
