Crutchie PoV:

"Jack! Wait for me!" Crutchie yelled, the Delancey Brothers grabbing at his arms.

"Where do you think you're goin'?" Oscar sneered, his grip tightening around Cruchie's arms as he struggled.

"Jack, help!" Crutchie cried again, "Romeo! Finch!"

"Oh, shut it, crip," Morris growled.

Pent up anger from every cruel comment that the Delancey brothers or anyone had said to him finally overflowed like a volcano through Crutchie as he swung his crutch. Satisfaction filled him as Oscar stumbled backwards with a grunt of pain, clutching his leg.

His happiness was cut short by Morris' fist colliding with his face and knocking him to the ground. Crutchie felt his crutch fly out of his hands as he hit the ground hard with a thud, his face stinging from the blow. His bad leg was throbbing and he could feel the bruise starting to form from where Morris had punched him.

"Well, it's off to The Refuge with you, Little Man." Snyder said with a cruel smile as he leaned down and grabbed his crutch. Snyder raised the crutch menacingly over him as Crutchie sobbed,

"No! No, stop!" Snyder brought the crutch down on him again and again as he pleaded, "No, please, don't!"

"How about a little..." Snyder slammed the crutch down on him as Crutchie yelled in pain. A wave of nausea washed over him as Snyder smashed his crutch down on his bad leg. Snyder grinned down at him darkly as he barked to the Delancey Brothers, "Take him away."

Crutchie continued to cry as he felt the hand cuffs tighten around his wrists as the twins grabbed him by his bad leg and began to drag him away.

"CRUTCHIE!" Jack yelled as he ran towards them, trying to catch up.

"Jack! Help!" Crutchie called, his hands scrabbling on the ground, trying desperately to stop moving away from Jack. Instead of slowing down, all he got were scraped up hands and a swift kick from the Delancey's.

Jack was getting farther and farther away and he couldn't stop it. Crutchie was screaming and crying but he didn't care. His shoulder was scraped and his chest was throbbing from getting beaten with his crutch. His rib was probably broken and being dragged on the ground wasn't helping. Still he continued to struggle, trying to break free of the evil twins' grasp.

"Jack!" he managed again, his voice raw from yelling. Tears continued to run down Crutchie's dirty and bruised face as Morris threw him into the back of the carriage that would take him to the Refuge.

"Jack! Jack!" Oscar mocked, "Tell it to someone who cares, ya lousy crip." and with that Morris punched him across the face again, engulfing Crutchie into darkness.

"JACK!" Crutchie yelled as he sat up, his heart pounding. Tears were flowing down his face and his shirt and head were soaked with sweat. He looked around the familiar view from the rooftop as his heart hammered in his chest. He clutched the fabric of his shirt as the sound of Snyder and the Delanceys' laughing echoed throughout his mind.

In mere seconds Jack was by his side, dark brown eyes filled with concern.

"Hey, hey. Crutch, it's me. It's okay." Jack said softly, his soothing voice quieting the sound of Crutchie's beating heart.

"J-Jack," He choked out.

Before he could say another word, Jack had wrapped his arms around him and was hugging him tightly. Crutchie melted into the embrace, crying into Jack's shoulder. Jack whispered sweet nothings into his ear as he rubbed soothing circles into Crutchie's back.
