Chapter 2

Spencers POV

I felt bad for mentioning Joallys' mother. But I still hoped we'd be friends. 

"I'm Spencer. As you heard JJ calls me Spence." I smiled.

"She looked back at me and smiled. "Joallys. My friend calls me Jo or Ally."

I smiled at her. She was so beautiful. She had orange hair that was probably box dyed but had natural black hair growing from her roots. Probably from Hotch. She had these deep blue eyes that reminded me of the deep blue sea. She was also wearing a beautiful necklace that had a small opal crystal on it that she was fiddling with. Most likely her mother's.

Before I could analyze her more I heard Morgan.

"Reid you're staring." He singsong whispered in my ear.

I slapped him away as I realized Joallys was looking at me. I felt myself turn a light shade of pink.

Just then JJ called us to the round table to be briefed on a new case.

At the round table

"Ok so we're all going to Whitechapel- who's the mini?" Garcia asked when she saw Joallys.

"Hi! I'm Dr. Ramirez. I'm the new agent. And to be fair I am 22 and 5'7." She laughed.

God her laugh was beautiful. And charming too. I thought to myself. Wait what was I doing? This is Hotchs daughter for gods sake.

"Oh! Mini genius! My name's Penelope Garcia!" She smiled sweetly.

" Pleased to meet you Penelope!" Joallys smiled. God even her smile was breathtaking.

"Garcia stay in track." Hotch muttered.

"Right. So Whitechapel murders. All brunette females, mid twenties, and small." She said. "Last 2 weeks there's been 4 murders all of which end with a single gunshot wound execution style."

"Well he obviously has a type." Emily said looking at the case file.

"Low risk life styles. Rarely any bar or club charges, never drank often, you know this could be a sign of protectiveness." Joallys said.

"How exactly did you come to that?" JJ asked.

"Think about it. Your 24 and you've just gotten out of college and have a steady first job. You don't want to lose that job quicky so you rarely take the risk of going out to party or drink in fear if it possibly being spiked." She said.

Everyone looked at her some with jaws slightly dropped as was mine.

"What?" She asked.

"Mini genius is actually correct. All the women had steady first jobs and we're ripe out of college." Garcia said.

"Alright. Wheels up in 20." Hotch said.

Joallys POV
TW: Briefly talks about rape.

I was last on the plane and decided to sit next to Spencer. I had a book with me to read as if I wouldn't finish it in an hour, the Grimms fairy tales.

"Interesting choice." I heard Spencer say.

I looked over at him. He had a Hamilton book with him.

"Oh yeah, I like how the original is much different from the more recent tellings of the stories." I said.

He smiled. "You know an interesting fact about Sleeping Beauty is that-"

"She was raped in her sleep and the actual true loves kiss was a kiss from her child. I know it's so messed up." I said.

"Yeah." He said softly. "I'm going to get some coffee."

He walked to the coffee station and I saw him make his coffee.

Vanilla creamer with 2 scoops of sugar.

He came back and smiled. I smiled back before going back to my book.

"Uh oh. Looks like Boy Genius is falling for Baby Genius." I heard Morgan said.

I heard Spencer choke on his coffee and turned a light shade if red. I went into a ball in my seat and covered my newly pink face behind my book.

I heard Jennifer laugh. "And Baby Hotch for Boy Genius."

This made me slowly uncover my face with a look of confusion. Hotchner had the same look but we both brushed it off.

It was going to be a long flight so I put on my noise cancelling headphones and played My Chemical Romance and Panic! At the Disco while reading. When we were going to take off I started shaking.

"Are you ok?" Spencer asked low enough for me to hear as I took off my headphones.

"Most plane accidents occure at the first 14 minutes or the last 8." I said.

I felt a warm hand on mine. I looked down at my hand and saw Spencers on top of mine. He was rubbing his thumb on the back of my hand which honestly made me feel calm.

He leaned over to me. "You can squeeze my hand if your scared."

I smiled at the kindness I was being shown by another germaphobe.

After we took off I didn't let go of Spencer's hand and from the looks of it he didn't mind. My eyes started feeling heavy and I fell asleep on his shoulder.

Spencers POV

I felt Joallys' head on my shoulder. She fell asleep. I smiled to myself. She must've been exhausted from everything today.

"Pretty Boy." Morgan said. "Got yourself a pretty girlfriend."

"No." I said defensive. "She was just scared and me being the good friend I am comforted her."

"Whatever you say." Morgan smiled.

I read the rest of my book and decided that Joallys wouldn't mind if I read hers since I never read it and read hers. After I read Rumplestiltskim I closed the book.

"Fairy Tales are weird. There's so scientific evidence that a small man could possibly spin straw into gold." I said.

Emily laughed. "Fairy tales aren't supposed to make sense scientifically. They're fantasy. A made up world where anything can happen. I'm surprised she read that of all things."

"Me to. The cover looks old don't you think?" I asked Emily handing it to her.

She looked at the cover. "Yeah sure does." She opened the book to the first page. "If you wait till your ready you'll be waiting the rest of your life."

"Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events." I said.

Hotch went over and looked at the writing. "It's her mother's handwriting." He said clearing his throat.

"Hotch not that it's any of our business but how'd you know Joallys was a girl?" JJ chimed in.

"I used to visit her and her mother. I actually read from that book. She loved Rapunzel." He smiled softly. "She said she wanted to have a sundrop flower like the one in the movie. For her 3rd birthday I got her a big bouquet of them." He sighed. "She probably doesn't remember. She was always so different."

We walked back to his seat and I looked over to Joallys. She was so peaceful and she didn't deserve to be left parent less so young. I remember what that felt like. Maybe she wasn't different. Maybe she was like me.
