Trees, some of the tallest things on the planet, they may not be alive in the same sense as animals but they tower over most of them even large sauropods such as Brachiosaurus.

However, these trees were burnt and rotten, their beautiful leafs are nothing more than dust on the ground indistinguishable from dirt, they looked extremely brittle and were in a state of major decay, the trees would probably fall if the wind blew hard enough since their trunks aren't as strong as they used to be.

Fiery embers rain down from the sky, along with flaming rocks of death that fell down on the forest, with each rock another tree was taken down and way more burned up afterwards, and there was barley any escape from the rocks and the falling trees.

Some dinosaurs tried to run through the burning forest but they were either shot down by one of the rocks or they would get pinned down by one of the trees, it was almost like this forest which used to be a heaven for dinosaurs turned into the perfect death trap, the flaming rocks were already a huge problem but because this is a forest with many trees it just makes the situation even worse.

A mother Brachiosaurus lumbered through the burning forest with her offspring following close behind, she held her neck low and kept her child near her, even if there seemed to be no escape from this forest she has to try, if she doesn't get out of here her child will burn to death and her child's life is much more important to her than her own life, and there's no way she's going to let her only child burn alive in this forest.

The smoke coming from the forest was slowly suffocating the mother and her young, but she kept urging her child to go forward because even if she dies at least she could die knowing her child can still live on, and as they kept moving through the forest, they could see a small clearing in the distance that wasn't too far away.

"There it is, just keep going my child, we're almost there" the mother assured her child.

Even though both the mother and child were coughing because of the smoke they kept going, the clearing was just a few feet away and if they could get there without being interrupted, then they won't have to worry about too much once they get over there.

Unfortunately for the mother, just because the forest was burning, it still didn't stop the predators from hunting down their prey.

From behind the two sauropods, the mother heard some kind of howl, it was a sound she was quite familiar with and it was very clear that the situation was about to escalate even further, if that creature is what she thinks it is then she may have to give up own life for her child's.

"Keep going" the mother coughed.

"Mommy, I can't leave you!" The child shouted.

"Just go son, you can still live a long life, and maybe one day you'll grow as big as me" the mother tried to cheer her child up, but it was clearly not working, the boy wasn't leaving this forest without his mother.

Even more balls of fire rained down on the forest, one of them even fell into a nearby lake and because of the amount of heating coming off the rock, the lake began to boil.

Certain dinosaurs like Compsognathus and Microceratus died immediately after the first few rocks had landed, they weren't as durable as the bigger dinosaurs so they burned away in seconds.

As the mother and child ran towards the clearing, they began to hear an ominous growl of some sorts, the one that sends a chill down a herbivore's spine, this predator was fierce and ruthless and was almost fearless since it mostly didn't care what it needed to fight just to survive.

Something from behind them started tearing through the smoke and from it a giant theropod emerged, hungry for meat, and it was none other than a Tyrannosaurus.
