Chuuya pov

I hear several gunshots coming from downstairs, which catches my attention. I've been sitting tied up in this room for probably about an hour now, although it's kind of hard to tell. When I woke up, I was alone in this room. I have no idea how I got here. Last thing I remember was tying up that rock guy. The room is small, with only 2 windows, one a few feet away from me and the other on another wall.

There are lasers all throughout the room, and a small box that's attached to my neck, making a beeping noise. Whatever it is, it can't be good. I try to activate my ability, but it's no use. Nothing happens. My hands are chained together with a pair of handcuffs thick enough that I can't break them with my bare strength alone, I need my ability for that, which seems to somehow not be working right now. I've never been a great lockpick, unlike Dazai.

Could this be the work of Fyodor? Probably. He was supposed to be working with rock guy. But what would he want with me? Geez, I hope Dazai's ok. I miss him.

A bloodcurdling scream snaps me out of my thoughts, and I look around in confusion. It seems to have come from downstairs, the same direction the gunshots came from. Silence, then another scream, this one more terrible than the first. I cringe and try to block out the noise. I feel bad for whoever's screaming like that. Whatever's happening to them can't be good.

There's silence for a few minutes, broken by a few occasional gunshots, the sound getting closer each time. Someone seems to be making their way up to the top floor of the building. I hope it's someone I can trust, because if not, I'm dead meat. I'm completely defenseless right now.

I can hear footsteps in the hallway, getting closer. Whoever it is seems to have made it to the top. I hold my breath as the door swings open.

"Dazai?!"

"Chuuya! Are you ok?!" Dazai starts to rush towards me, but stops in front of the lasers. He frowns at them. On closer inspection, he's covered in blood. There are dark red splatters on his coat and shoes, and some on his face and hands as well.

"Dazai, you're bleeding! Are you ok? Once I get out of here, I'll kill whoever did this to you-"

"It's not my blood." He interrupts me. I stop talking, noticing the bloodthirsty expression on his face. It makes me shiver a little. "I'm gonna get you out of here, don't worry." He says.

"Aw, you've come to save your lover. How sweet." A russian voice sounds from the corner. A projection of a man in a wooly hat flickers to life in the corner.

"Fyodor." Dazai snarls.

"Ah, so you do remember me!" Fyodor claps his hands. "Splendid!"

"Why are you doing this?" Dazai asks, coldly.

"Simple. I want something from you."

"Well, spit it out. I don't have all day."

Fyodor smiles. "I would like you to tell me all the secrets you're collected from your time at the Port Mafia. Once you do, I'll let your little boyfriend go."

"But why Dazai? Why not ask one of the mafia's current members? And why kidnap me?" I ask the projection of Fyodor.

"Well, I was just dying to see my good friend Dazai again, and as for you, why not have a little fun while I'm at it?" He shrugs. "Making people miserable is just one of my talents. It's not my fault I'm good at it."

I try to see what Dazai is thinking, but it's impossible to tell behind the mask that is his face. He looks as calm as ever.

"So, start talking." Fyodor smiles at Dazai. "If one of your fingers even so much as grazes one of those lasers, that bomb on Chuuya's neck blows up. He can't use his ability, either. He's been injected with a special drug I've been working on that prevents the person from being able to use their ability." He laughs a little. "So, what'll it be, Dazai?"

"Hmm, well you've put me in quite the predicament here." Dazai says. "Using people's loved ones against them is certainly always a tactic that works well. There's no good way for me to get out of this."

As he talks, he taps his foot subtly, quietly enough that Fyodor won't be able to hear it, and from the angle he's at, Fyodor won't be able to see his foot, either. Morse code. He's talking to me. Smart. Obviously, I know morse code, I mean what mafia member doesn't?

The drug is about to wear off. He taps. Throw the bomb out the window.

What? I'm confused, and I try to catch his attention by glaring at him, but he keeps his attention on Fyodor. I twitch my fingers a bit, and to my surprise, I can feel the faint tingle of my ability coming back, in only about a minute, the full thing will be back. I smile to myself.

Dazai continues making his little speech to Fyodor. "Obviously, I have no reinforcements, and since I can't touch these lasers, the only way I can get to Chuuya is by telling you what you want and you turning off the lasers. Using human emotions is always a great tactic."

My ability is fully back now, I can feel it.

"Of course, there's only one thing you forgot to take into account." Dazai says.

"Oh? And what's that?" Fyodor asks, looking amused as usual.

"You overestimate how human I really am."

Suddenly, Dazai thrusts his arm out, directly into the lasers. The bomb on my neck starts beeping like crazy, and I know I only have a few seconds. I quickly snap my handcuffs in half using my ability, and snap the string holding the bomb around my neck. With one hand, I chuck it towards the window, boosting it with my ability, and it crashes through the glass.

It explodes about 2 seconds later in the air, with a large boom that shakes the building and makes the projection of Fyodor flicker and go out, although he is still smirking somehow. I stick my head out the window, making sure no damage was done to any of the neighboring buildings.

When I conclude that everything looks ok, I turn back around, running across the room and throwing myself into Dazai's arms.

"Woah there, was my little Chuuya worried?" He teases, tugging on a lock of my hair.

"God, just shut the fuck up for once, Jesus." I pull him in for a kiss, looping my arms around his neck. After a second I pull back.

"Chuuya!" He exclaims, clearly surprised. "You kissed me!"

I blush and try to hide my face under my hat. "I was just worried for you, ok? Who knows what Fyodor could have done. Plus, am I not allowed to kiss my boyfriend?"

"Why, of course you are." He grabs my choker, pulling me towards him and forcing me to look up. He licks his lips seductively. "If anything, I'd like you to do it again."

I feel my face get hot. "What the fuck, get away from me!" I push him off. "Whatever, let's just get out of here."

"Okay!" He grabs my hand and pulls me into the hallway, then down several flights of stairs into the lobby. We pass a few bodies on the stairs, and I look away. We reach the lobby after a minute or two.

I look around. Several bodies litter the floor, pools of blood surrounding them. They all seem to have died from bullet wounds, and Dazai tries to lead me past them quickly, but as we pass the last man, I notice that he has two rather gruesome looking gashes running down his face. I stop walking, tugging on Dazai's hand for him to stop too.

"What happened here?" I ask, dropping his hand and trying to stay quiet. I feel like I should, for some reason.

"I was hoping you wouldn't point that out." Dazai sighs. "They took you, so I taught them a little lesson." A dark shadow passes over his face, and I can imagine him killing and torturing all these men, just to save me.

Even though I would never, ever admit this to him, there's some tiny part of me that finds all that, I don't know, a tiny bit attractive? I mean, he went through all that for me. Half of me wants to scold him and the other half wants to laugh.

Instead, I settle for reaching up and giving him a quick peck on the cheek, causing both of us to turn red. It's funny how he'll act so confident but get embarrassed by the tiniest things. It's cute, really.

"Come on, let's go home." I say, grabbing his hand again and pulling him towards the exit.

He looks at me for a second before his face breaks into a grin and he follows me happily.
