Wren woke up in a cold sweat the next morning, about to call out a 'good morning' to Ki before she remembered events of the previous night were not a nightmare.
She shook her head, rubbing her eyes, determined to not let what happened ruin the rest of her trip in San Diego. Albeit it would be extremely difficult to move past the events of the night before, she understood that she shouldn't dwell on it. What happened had happened, and it wasn't her fault nor could she do a damned thing about it.
Wilbur stirred on the couch beside her bed, the kind man offering her bed to lay on the previous night, after she explained the unfortunate reality of the matter.
Wilbur, Phil, and Punz had comforted Wren for what seemed like hours, before it was eventually extremely early in the morning and the group had no choice but to head to bed.
Wren sat in the bed for awhile, even after Wilbur and Phil had began to move around the room, preparing for the day. While she reassured herself that this was just a small dip in her life, she was as anxious as ever to go back to the convention.
She knew at one point or another she'd be forced to confront the other end of the drama, Sapnap.
She tried as hard as she could not to even think about the boy. Her mind was a mangled mess of emotions when his name ran through her head, and she wasn't even sure what she was feeling. Not good, that was for sure, but not angry either. Disappointed, more or so, or even jealous? She wasn't exactly sure, and she didn't really want to dwell on it either.
She genuinely hoped that when her and Sapnap did see each other, it would be normal. She prayed that he wouldn't have any idea about the events of the previous night, that he wouldn't have noticed her sadness when she entered the room, and that he would have no clue that Wren was mentally draining herself thinking about him. That she was inevitably so upset that she hadn't been the one to make a move first.
Wren practically begged the universe to let her and Sapnap just stay friends, and never ever even acknowledge the drama. She hoped with all her might, that they still might be able to be friends.
"Wren?" Wilbur voice made the girl snap back to reality. "I'm sorry, it's just getting late. You should start to get ready soon, if you're still up for it."
She nodded her head and dismissed his worries. "I'm alright, Will. I'm up, I'm up."
She began to rid herself of the covers and pushed her way onto the floor.
Wilbur spoke again, "Will you be joining our panel today?"
Wren turned her head slightly at his question, not completely sure what he meant, before she remembered what Sapnap had asked her the day before. "Oh- um, probably not. All things considered."
"I assumed." Wilbur nodded his head. "You hurt me, Wren. Now I will have to sit up on a panel with a bunch of idiots by myself."
Wren giggled at his teasing, laughing even harder when she saw Phil peak his head out of the bathroom to glare at the tall boy. "Excluding you, Philza Minecraft."
Wren shook her head smiling at the interaction, slipping some items out of her bags and waiting for Phil to leave the bathroom before she began to get ready.
