Amara's POV
I'm was stuck in a meeting and I'm so bored pero mabuti at tapos na.
As I'm walking down the hallway, I felt someone following me and in a swift moment, that someone is already walking the same pace as me.
"Austin! Nagulat ako sa'yo!" Sabi ko sa taong 'yon.
"Sorry. Haha!" He said then he clasped his hands behind his back. "Sa meeting palang, you look bothered already. Okay ka lang?" He concerningly asked.
"Yeah, I guess I'm fine." Alanganin kong sagot.
"Yeah right. Sure?" Tila hindi siya naniniwala sa sinabi ko.
"I-I don't know. My mind is just all over the place."
We reached the office but he stayed outside as I walked in. "Pasok ka." I invited him before I walked straight to my swivel chair.
Hinawi ko ang buhok ko sa likuran at itinaas ito dahil sobrang init! Hot flashes na naman! "Sit down." I told Austin. Nakatayo kasi, ako 'yung nangangawit eh.
"Anyway, ayun nga, magulo lang talaga 'yung utak ko ngayon." I told him.
"May I know why? Or if you don't want to, that's completely fine."
"No, it's okay. I feel like something's bothering my daughter kasi at school. I don't know. It's my maternal instinct, laging malakas pagdating sa anak ko."
"Well, if your 'maternal instincts' are telling you something's wrong, then something's probably wrong." He said.
"You said the exact same thing as my husband."
"Really? Pwede na rin pala akong maging husband." Sabi niya sabay tawa. "Nah, I'm just kidding. Pinapagaan ko lang 'yung mood mo." Dagdag niya.
We talked for quite a bit. As usual, he slides his jokes in during the conversation to make the atmosphere much lighter.
While we were talking, someone opened the glass door so we both looked to that direction and saw Alex walking inside, staring at the folder that he's holding.
"Hon, I have the--Austin? I didn't know you're here?"
"Meeting." Tugon ni Austin sa kaniya.
"Right." He nodded slowly then faced me with a smile. "Hon, you just need to sign this." My husband placed the folder on my desk then lumingon naman kay Austin.
"And Mr. Hermano, since you're here, I want to discuss some important matters with you. Shall we go to my office?"
"Uh sure." Sagot nito. Tumayo siya at inayos ang damit. "See you around, Amara." He said. I waved at him and smiled before he and my husband left my office.
I smell jealousy!! Pero in fairness, ang smooth ng galawan niya ngayon ha. If I didn't know that he's jealous of Austin, I wouldn't notice how he effectively convinced Austin to go with him just so the man would leave me alone.
Habang nakatitig ako sa pinto kung saan sila lumabas, biglang umilaw ang telepono ko kaya inabot ko iyon at binasa ang text message na pinadala sa'kin.
Hon: You owe me big time.
I laughed loudly upon reading his message. Seloso!!
: And what do I owe you, Mister? 😉
A few seconds later, he replied.
