Yoongi POV

It has been so long since I've gone grocery shopping. One of my previous owners used to take me, but that was years ago.

I could never decide if I loved it or hated it. On one hand, I loved being able to look at all of the fresh produce, the daily deliveries of meat and fish, and the snacks. But on the other hand, I hated all of the people that surrounded me.

Y/N pushed the cart towards the produce section first, opening up her phone to look at the list she had made.

"You can get anything you want" she absent-mindedly said to me as she read through the list.

Of course I wasn't going to get everything that I wanted, that would just be rude. I decided I would add some things in though for the recipes that I wanted to try.

We slowly walked through the aisles, one of us occasionally adding something to the cart, listening to the background music, making comments about random foods. There were a few hybrids in the store today, walking around with their person.

Every time I passed one, I glanced at their collar and their person. I wondered what their home life was like, if their person was nice to them, if they got to sleep in the same bed, if they could eat whatever they wanted. I also mentally compared my own collar to theirs, although we still had the plain black ones Y/N had got from the shelter. We hardly ever wore them so we forget to buy new ones.

As we got near a bear hybrid and his person, I noticed him glaring at me. I must have accidentally got too close to his owner because he let out a low growl as I walked past him.

"Jason, don't be rude!" the man lightly scolded him.

"Sorry, he gets protective" he said to me.

I just shook my head and mumbled a 'it's ok' as I got closer to Y/N. I wondered if the 3 of us looked like that whenever we went out in public with her. Probably.

She didn't even seem to notice, as she was looking at a shelf of pasta. I stood right next to her so that our shoulders were touching. This shopping trip was not as bad as I thought it would be, it was less packed than I thought, and I wasn't completely on edge.

As we chatted about what kinds of pasta we should get, a familiar smell caught my attention. I whipped my head towards it, and saw a man walking towards us as he scanned the shelves. Who was this guy? Where do I remember him from??

He got closer to us and his eyes skimmed over us as he looked at the next shelf, before turning his head back completely to look at us, as if he recognised us. A smile appeared on his face as he hurried his steps towards us.

I shuffled even closer to Y/N, one of my hands grabbing hers and my tail wrapping around her leg. She looked at me confused, and turned to look at the person I was frowning at.

"Miss Y/N!" he called out, his smile wide as he got to us.

The man from the restaurant!

"Oh, hi!" Y/N said, obviously trying to be polite, although I could smell the nervousness coming off her.

"Jun Lee, we met at the restaurant last week" he reminded her, giving her a small bow as he spoke.

"Oh yes" realisation flashed across her face. "Sorry I never called, we've had a busy week"

"It's no problem at all!" he flashed another smile.

He didn't seem too problematic. His scent wasn't bitter, or sour, it seemed pretty normal. Maybe he wasn't a bad person? Maybe the research centre wasn't a freaky experimentation hell like I thought?
